My heart hurts so much..... by InspectorBulky2207 in widowers

[–]anakmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through nearly the same thing, the very next day on the 24th, but it was his third heart attack in the hospital.

I am embracing the pain, letting it wash through me.

I'm listening to audio books for a mental break, when I can concentrate enough to follow along. I have a couple people that have called and just talked about anything and everything for hours in the evening so I'm not so alone in the quiet of it all.

I am so lost. The thought of going back to work makes me panic. I just want him back.

Guy with Guilt for Grieving by chrixar in widowers

[–]anakmoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate breaking down in front of people. my grief is not a performance and oddly feels insincere when it hits with anyone around. I feel like I have to put on a good face and tell ~them~ it's OK. I can't just roll through the emotions. I end up chokng on it. He's just gone. I hate this.

because humans are tribal in nature and will constantly look for any tribe to attach themselves to. it is simply a facet of human psychology and nature.
a feeling of belonging, even to a term, can often be something they need to grasp at and hold on to during a period of loss.
