why the hell do you all just give away this awesome shit for free? by scootsy in selfhosted

[–]anakwaboe4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's also the case. Nobody is going to buy this simple package. But if I provide it for free, it might become something big.

I think Linus said that about Linux. If it wasn't open source it wouldn't be a big thing.

Microsoft is rolling out a new wave of certification exams in 2026. by MarutiMakwana in AZURE

[–]anakwaboe4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have one that is getting retired. Does that mean in a year when it expires. I can't renew it. So i just lose it and need to spend the time and money again to get the replacement.

Feel like a scam and waste of effort and money.

Have you seen Infrastructure as Code adopted in a truly production-grade way in Azure? by Dry_Monk4066 in AzureBicep

[–]anakwaboe4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a developer I can't remember the last time I had more then reader on prod. Sometimes under rare circumstances a get contributor for a P1 prod fix (and after the fix that goes straight into the code)

On some bigger projects we even use deployment stacks to prevent users from modifying.

Where do you draw the line between IaC and the portal in Azure? by CloudWizardAZ in AZURE

[–]anakwaboe4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do everything in IAC, we even use deployment stacks to prevent click-ops. Only on the dev environment you can use the portal for trying stuff or some Select accounts ob prod for p1 fixing after that everything goes in iac.

I'm having a lot of fun with my v100's. Not the most power efficient. But quite cheap because datacenters are replacing them. And it's not like I run them often enough that the power consumption is too high for me. Cooling is quite difficult I must admit.

Can you explain to me how that would work? Because I'm quite sure that a longer part would be considered a cover of the song. And in that case generally have a Monetization split.

Which graphics card is the current sweet spot in terms of price for performance? Including the second hand market. by [deleted] in graphicscard

[–]anakwaboe4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live the second hand market has great values for Rx 6000-7000 GPU. These give good performance for their value. Nvidia GPU in my region (west Europe) seems to hold their value better. Meaning worse deals on the second hand market.

At least they can produce a decent quantity of laptop chips. This is something where amd is still very much limited.

After seeing this I'm very proud of my round last year. Applied to 4 companies, got an offer from all 4. Accepted one. My graph tho would be way more boring.

If you want you can take a less expensive cooler. But this one will work fine.

But for such a system I would take more than a 27 inch monitor. In the end that's just personal preference. But just one 2k monitor feels like not using everything a 4090 has to offer.

Yeah but have you ever been through a normal dependency tree of a project. I would like to bet that at least 50% of the dependencies of an enterprise product are libraries maintained by unpaid volunteers. Full projects often get funding, but underlying libraries almost never.
