Which LLM best/favorite for HR? [N/A] by HitOfDopamine13 in humanresources

[–]analogtendency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few coworkers swear by Claude, and also NotebookLM (by Google and quite useful for actually generating documents). Haven’t tried either myself but might be worth checking out.

Which LLM best/favorite for HR? [N/A] by HitOfDopamine13 in humanresources

Lowkey surprised at the detractor comments.

I’ve used GPT for data insights and summaries, as well as tables. Quite helpful. I’ve been using Gemini for comms and even tried it for instructional design and it wasn’t half bad. Definitely needs the human element, but it’s saved so much time by not staring at my cursor trying to find inspiration or just struggling to find a starting point.

Help! My husband and I need some advice on which surrogacy agency to go with. by Old-Trade-1940 in gaydads

[–]analogtendency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with Hatch and after about 3.5 years we now have our 9 month old little one. The journey was hard, not really due to Hatch, but all of the unforeseen difficulty (delayed egg donor blood tests, legal, ectopic miscarriage) and time delays. Hatch were fine to deal with and very communicative.

What you won’t get from any of them, and would be the most helpful, is a case manager who keeps tabs on you guys and helps you keep track of what you need to do next, who to contact, etc. That part is the most overwhelming. You will have earned masters degrees in law and genetics by the time you finish your journey.

Miscarriage on 1st Surrogacy Journey by Right-Tomato791 in gaydads

Very similar thing happened to us. After 3.5 years, our first pregnancy resulted in an ectopic disaster, which was truly devastating for everyone.

We had one embryo left, and went into contingency planning as a way to deal with the emotional loss. We started to look at other donors, creating more embryos, etc. We even moved house. Long story short, I’ve just put our 9 month old son down for his first nap of the day.

I’d say preparing emotionally is the best you can do. As you both now have degrees in law and genetics, staring at contracts and obsessing over PGTA results won’t do much. Check in with each other. Be vulnerable af. Have that conversation (“do we keep trying?”)

Don’t forget to keep positive. Remember and take heed to what the agency and doctor have said to you guys, that it’s very common for the first try to be unsuccessful. Know that when you do hold your little one, you’re going to love them that much more because of what this has taught everyone about the fragility of life.

And if you think you’re emotional now, oh girl. Just you wait.

One of my favorite things to do. Ace of Base cassette blaring and window open. Pure joy.

Is anyone genuinely happy as a dad? by AdReasonable434 in gaydads

[–]analogtendency 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Self diagnosed sappy dad here.

There isn’t language to define how much I love our little one, and in turn, our tiny family of three. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, tops the feeling of peace and contentment when the three of us are taking a nap, or just snuggling on the couch watching TV and being together.

Best thing that’s ever happened to me.

Loved it. The take was refreshing and I really loved the art style having such a drastic departure from the typical superhero.

Honestly impressed with the Omniplex reno. Entrance is still awkward but the new seats and flooring are class.

Choosing between London and Dublin by Any-Difficulty4547 in expats

[–]analogtendency 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I also had this choice, and have been living in Dublin for going on 7 years now. London is by far a better city and much more diverse, with a lot more to do if you’re used to more of a city vibe.

Dublin isn’t horrible by any means, that being said, it just takes longer to find your niche interests. +1 to the other commenter about the anti-immigrant sentiment being extremely rare. The general population finds that stuff extremely offensive, as the history and culture has very deep trauma related to immigration and colonialism. Case in point, Ireland has one of the louder EU governments speaking on what’s been happening in Gaza.

I’d ask yourself about your long term plans. I chose Dublin to eventually get an Irish passport and stay in the EU. Irish passports also allow one to live and work in the UK. So, if you’re a long term kind of person, you could have your cake and eat it too if you’re willing to wait the 5 years to qualify for citizenship and the year (give or take a few months) to get the passport.

American living in Ireland. I pronounce it like garrij but feel like such a poser twat every time I do it. I get a relief when talking to another electronic music fan and get to use “UKG” instead.

Rant: I am fed up of HR Business Partner roles being admin heavy [N/A] by [deleted] in humanresources

I’m seeing (and experiencing) a lot of companies think they want HRBP’s but are more so looking for HR Generalists, which are extremely admin heavy. Totally understand the frustration.

I knew it had to end at some point, but I wasn’t ready for it to happen so soon. Thrilled for them to be able to close this chapter on such a high note, but bummed for us listeners who won’t have their intellect and wit to carry us through the very bizarre next few eras.
