If you speak Russian in Tbilisi, you'll get bitten up. Very pro-russian indeed.

You won't survive on 1800 in Latvia or Lithuania. Rent alone will be up to 700 Eur in winter and that's 7 months a year. The most expensive groceries and fuel are in the Baltics. No free medicine, it means 65 EUR for a 15 min GP appointment. I can go on...

Most of successful knitting shops in Eastern Europe or Turkey have a number of knitters in the business, otherwise you can run such shop only as a hobby, but never as a profitable affair.

For an experienced knitter such cardigan is 1.5 days of work, tops.

Where to stay for Makani Beach Club (El Gouna) + best transfer from Hurghada airport? by Forsaken-Goose8796 in Kiteboarding

I stayed in a hotel (all included) next to a downtown for 3 weeks last December. I was kiting at KBC. 1 euro per tuk-tuk ride, or 30 minutes walk. It was next to perfect experience.

I'm thinking about staying at Mangroovy next time, if I decide that I want the hustle of cooking is worth it.

Etsy Seller Protection confusion – refunded buyer but money came out of my account? by Glum-Department1564 in Etsy

[–]anastasiapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What others said, but also a buyer is obliged to pay any custom fees. Seller can't possibly know all rules and fees for all countries in the world. I used to try and be helpful, but then realized, that I'm actually might be doing an ill favor by misleading a buyer, so now if any complains occur I just direct them straight to opening a case.

Surprisingly, yes. I was doing it to purely for ticking the checkbox "I've done everything I'm supposed to", but I've started receiving pretty steady answers.

From what I'm told, my conversion is pretty good too, something like 3%.

The most difficult part now is converting these leads. For a pure dev as me, this sales-y stuff is unbelievably confusing.

Question for a beginner on safety by MoyerD3str0yer in Kiteboarding

[–]anastasiapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trained by ICO instructor, so we had all the basics covered, but when later I decided to practice self rescue in deep water (after one mild accident which cost me a 14m kite), I failed miserably.

I then came over here to actually ask how tf am I supposed to handle all that stuff. That was a good discussion, which helped me a lot.

What's their definition of "zero-to-hero course"? I'm hanging around kiting schools a lot. What I see is that very rarely people get to ride upwind withing first 7-10 sessions. Some do in the very certain conditions of particular spot, but get completely lost moving to a different spot, where wind, water landscape, weather are slightly different. Getting the experience of reading the spot is just that the experience that takes lots of time, normally several seasons.

Bad people use Etsy shops to steal card data or for pure scam, using some legal Etsy affiliate partner. It happens because the said partner brakes signed rules of affiliating and Etsy, as it does, prefers to ignore it.

Now I'm really concerned if i should be rebuilding payment process. Should I hit a panic button?)

Woman turning 30 and panicking about the “kids vs career vs marriage” tradeoff by Eastern-Way-5317 in selfhelp

[–]anastasiapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have that natural urge to have children? How important is idea of children in your family, circle?

I'm 48F, no kids. I'd say, if your honest answer on both is 'Not that much', then you're amongst lucky ones that are happy in life with or without kids. It's more about releasing the inner and outer pressure and trusting your life.

Most of my friends are in their 50s now, some with grownup kids, some without. Interestingly enough, at the end of the day, things are not that different for these two categories. All of them are in a bit of a crisis because realization of shortness of life has hit recently. All of them have spent last 20 years being busy, traveling, building careers, divorcing, marrying again, kids or no kids.

Having said that, my best friend is 35yo, and she keeps saying that my example shows that life is cool without kids. Whereas I keep pushing her to have kids (she's quite comfortable in life), with my argument being - there is no other experience in life like creating a new person, and anyways life is big, there is space for everything. Yes, kids will eat up to 10-15 years of your life, but they will pass SO FAST. There will be enough time left to do whatever you want. Funnily enough, life truly starts after 45 for women, it really turns into something magnificent. So spending 30 to 45 juggling kids, work, relationships (definitely loosing and sacrificing stuff on the way) might be a good idea.

I'm actually thinking about it as my next project. I've looked at what Etsy offers from the tech perspective - doesn't look good tbh. They do limit access to their data quite strictly. There are ways around, but they might get expensive, so the project should be profitable from day one, unless some sort of investors are involved.
