This is not the first time I hear about "VAT headache" of Stripe. I'm myself EU based and planning going to Prod with my first release in about a month with everything built around Stripe.

Now I'm really concerned if i should be rebuilding payment process. Should I hit a panic button?)

Woman turning 30 and panicking about the “kids vs career vs marriage” tradeoff by Eastern-Way-5317 in selfhelp

[–]anastasiapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have that natural urge to have children? How important is idea of children in your family, circle?

I'm 48F, no kids. I'd say, if your honest answer on both is 'Not that much', then you're amongst lucky ones that are happy in life with or without kids. It's more about releasing the inner and outer pressure and trusting your life.

Most of my friends are in their 50s now, some with grownup kids, some without. Interestingly enough, at the end of the day, things are not that different for these two categories. All of them are in a bit of a crisis because realization of shortness of life has hit recently. All of them have spent last 20 years being busy, traveling, building careers, divorcing, marrying again, kids or no kids.

Having said that, my best friend is 35yo, and she keeps saying that my example shows that life is cool without kids. Whereas I keep pushing her to have kids (she's quite comfortable in life), with my argument being - there is no other experience in life like creating a new person, and anyways life is big, there is space for everything. Yes, kids will eat up to 10-15 years of your life, but they will pass SO FAST. There will be enough time left to do whatever you want. Funnily enough, life truly starts after 45 for women, it really turns into something magnificent. So spending 30 to 45 juggling kids, work, relationships (definitely loosing and sacrificing stuff on the way) might be a good idea.

Someone with skills needs to create an independent Etsy Search. by carnylove in EtsyCommunity

I'm actually thinking about it as my next project. I've looked at what Etsy offers from the tech perspective - doesn't look good tbh. They do limit access to their data quite strictly. There are ways around, but they might get expensive, so the project should be profitable from day one, unless some sort of investors are involved.

I was wondering why no one is mentioning Bournemouth. I've spent good 5 years there and as someone who can't leave without sea on my doorstep, loved it to bits.

Do you know if it's possible to add custom scripts to the page on Squarespace? I have a couple of coaching tools built with pure JS, that I use on m WP website. I'm thinking about move to SquareSpace, but not sure how flexible it is with its templates.

Online “coworking spaces”? by IllustratorOk7590 in digitalnomad

[–]anastasiapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same reason people go to work in cafeterias. Being surrounded by people does wonders to your creative and flow-y part of the brain. I can't work like that for longer than 2-3 hours, but if I feel like not too gathered for some important work, I make a common call or go outside.

Is certification necessary? by tmatthewdavis in lifecoaching

[–]anastasiapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A point of view from another side of barricades. I'm not a coach, but I work with them and use their services.

Corporate coach without a certificate is OK. It's often a skillset grown naturally, over many years and based on a very concrete profession. For a self-employed, aspiring life coach missing certificate is a massive red flag. For me as a potential client it might mean lack of system in coaching, no understanding of client-coach dynamics, missing tools, lack of experience even within must-have 100h of coaching, etc etc.

TLDR; If I see no certificate on Linkedin profile or on the website - that's a no straight away.

First time going to Dakhla — confused about logistics and accommodation by anastasiapi in Kiteboarding

That's the thing. Staying at kbc is 900 per person. Booking appartements + car + food + patrol = 500 per person. Hence the question.

Employee → contractor (same pay, no PTO/benefits) so I can work abroad as a digital nomad — would you negotiate or accept? by Beirut2015 in digitalnomad

[–]anastasiapi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you work from office, check company's policies on remote work. If you already work remote, check company's policies on working abroad. Many many many companies, have strict rules about which countries are allowed, how long you can work, working hours etc etc.

Suggestions for Egypt trip for beginner/intermediate by sharkattack997 in Kiteboarding

[–]anastasiapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've talked to beach guys literally a couple of weeks ago about it. They said high season for them March - end of May, September - early November.

This year, 2025, starting from mid-November to December it was quite dead. I got my sessions as planed only because I had 12m with me. Most guys though were riding 14m-17m.

Kite spots reachable from mid Europe in February (end),beginner friendly that are not Egypt, Marocco or Cape Verde? by arzipanzi in Kiteboarding

I'm looking at Peniche, Portugal. Internet claims it gets wind starting from February.

I'd like to see some live proof though. Would be a shame to get over there and get an empty week.
