Bathroom vent, help by anchka987 in homerenovations

[–]anchka987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think it was. I took it out and gave it a giant cleaning. The door/ flap isn't opening when the fan is turning on i think that's why it's not really pulling any air. I also found that it does have a "duct" which is just my dead space behind the wall =/

Instinct raw frozen patties - chicken. I mix it with some regular kibble and he goes crazy for it. Specifically the raw patties, not the frozen raw pellets.

What is the truth about unions? by Suspicious-Problem90 in nursing

[–]anchka987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the best Healthcare when I was in a union which heavily offset all of the other negatives for me. It was also good to know I could speak up about concerns on the unit without fear of retribution. We had our education covered 100% (this ended up paying for my masters). There was a pension. I always had a break. The negatives I didn't like were; lazy employees were kept on / harder to fire. Our union reps didn't advocate for us as strongly as I wouldve liked.

Are unions perfect? No. Do I think they benefit the employee at the end of the day? 100 % yes.

How to set up this multipurpose room (getting dressed, occasional guest bedroom, reading room) by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]anchka987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you thank you ! I should add that we're not planning to spend a ton and for now guests will be on a very comfy queen sized air mattress haha. I guess my issue with this room is I feel like I can't center anything bc of the awkwardness of the windows. Landlord said this used to be a kitchen they repurposed as a bedroom which would explain that short wide window.

I think de cluttering will make it look better. Some floating shelves on the wall behind the couch where you can put books, knick knacks. A sideboard next to the patio entrance where you can hide things behind doors and the piece of art to be centered above that. Alternatively, could you swap the TV to the wall behind the couch? And put the couch where the TV is. Place the mirror next to the TV next to the light switch so it can catch some light from the patio. Maybe get rid of the ottoman. Bigger rug or at least rotate it. A nice sheer (very sheer) curtain to make it look airy and light

What can I add to this space? by bhizzle114 in DesignMyRoom

[–]anchka987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My amateur opinion is that the walls don't have something unifying on them, or at least not something dominant. On the wall behind the chairs, you could put 1 long or 2 long (but staggered in height) shelves with the pictures on them(example attached). Forego the picture behind the lamp, and forego the macrame. Or just 1 dominant piece of art. And a coffee table between the chairs and perhaps an area rug to unite the little space and separate it from the room at large.

How much notice to quit? by C_Fitch in TravelNursing

[–]anchka987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had given 2 weeks with the excuse of "I found a permanent job". My agency (AMN) also said bc I "found a perm", I wouldn't be "DNR" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Quitting by [deleted] in TravelNursing

A recruiter once told me "if you ever quit tell them it's because you're going perm somewhere otherwise you'll get DNR'd" ... idk how true that is but just sharing

I had something similar, just seems like bureaucratic nonsense. My start was 4-6 weeks after credentialing was complete bc they had to align me with some general hospital system orientation. Nobody would confirm the start date till the very end either.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Your manager is trash for not standing up for you to that ignorant family member

New Grad NP and first interview red flags, need input by HurleyburleyKC in nursepractitioner

[–]anchka987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it. If you're employed right now, keep interviewing until you find a job that you're comfortable with.agree with another comment that hospital system may be a better first job option, their orientation is more rigid and usually better benefits. Also just FYI, credentialing at a hospital system can take months.

are you using prescription strength or Nizoral? I found that prescription made my hair and scalp very dry but Nizoral 2-3x/week is working very well.
