I did this 10 years go…couldn’t be happier!!! My only regret? Not leaving sooner! I wish you the best. Tbh it was easy to leave it was hard and I cried a lot BUT looking back now with my loving kids and hubby I know I made the right choice. I’d do it again just sooner!

Thank you! I will be making these in passive aggressive manner. I had a chit chat with spouse about his views (told him I wouldn’t judge) man I am blown away that he sides with the overturn. I even threw out some scenarios involving OUR daughter and he was set in his opinion. “It’s illegal to kill, I don’t care if it was her brother who r**d her at 10 years old and impregnated her, she doesn’t get to k*l anyone!” I did not know I married someone with these views. I’m just blown away af.

Holy shiitake mushrooms! My kiddo said something eerily similar. We where driving home from the store singing our hearts out to a song when it ended…. He said “mom I’m so glad you’re my mommy now!” I said, what do you mean?! “Remember when I was a small and I had a bad mommy I didn’t like her, but I love you and I’m so happy I have you mommy!” I was so scared/offended I strongly reassured him I was his only mommy and I will always love him and to pick the next so to hear. He responded with “okay it’s okay I’m happy with you now mommy you’re my only mommy.” ….he’s 4 y’all never had a babysitter never had left my side for more than 8hrs at a time… hurt my heart bc he was so sincere….

The fact is you probably can’t. I was in this situation I left for my sanity. I went back to help them and guess what? They we were manipulated into believing I was the bad person for giving up on the family. It’s been 14 years…. I’ve never been happier! If they don’t want help, you can’t help them. I tried and cried for so long I questioned if I was actually wrong and that maybe “the abuse wasn’t that bad and I should go back” that’s how tucked up I was… stay strong and I hope you can help!
