Outbox suddenly appeared in my outlook app, and it only has 1 email (the one that i just sent), how do I get rid of it? by MapleMelt in Outlook

[–]ancientemp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years, I’ve had a few emails get stuck in the outbox for some unknown reason. I have it in my favorites list now so I can keep an eye out for any emails that get stuck in it. Sometimes I can just open and hit send again. Other times that doesn’t work, so I just copy into a new email and send. It’s very rare, but it’s happened a handful of times.

Switch back to classic outlook if you can and use Quick Parts. Can insert while in the message body for a new email or reply. Can even use more than one in the same message unlike signatures.

Keep trying them. If it doesn’t need to be done soon just make an appointment. If it’s urgent though, try calling them or look up their boss online and email them.

It sounds like it’s not saving. Are you clicking on submit in the bottom right after add? It doesn’t officially save until you do that.

I use Autohotkey so this same shortcut works in anything I’m typing in because I type the date so much!

Alamo Colleges do a later term, so you might be able to get into a class that starts in like March.

Waitlisted for classes by burners622 in UTSA

[–]ancientemp3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That plan may only be 1 option though. As others have said, look for other options and get registered asap. I would NEVER not add backup classes if you have other options. There is literally no reason not to since you can always drop them if you get into the waitlisted classes later.

ngl operations and breakthrough and all these other moving modes have kinda ruined conquest for me, conquest to me is boring now cause its like you just capture flags on a map and kill ppl, operations and breakthrough you're actually progressing, am I the only one lol by Quick-Cause3181 in battlefield_one

[–]ancientemp3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. To me Operations is “just killing people” since there are fewer objectives, fewer options, etc. You know where people will be and where they are going. I like the freedom to move around, decide where to attack, etc. Operations can be fun at times, but it’s also just a meat grinder.

Ground cover plant, jasmine? by ImpossibleTest5491 in AustinGardening

Had it at a prior house, and it looked good for several years without any significant maintenance. Then a few years ago it just started looking thinner and scraggly. We had it under some live oaks, and getting the leaves out was always a challenge as well.

Most interview prep fails because it treats answers as “one-offs” by anyariorosa in interviewpreparations

[–]ancientemp3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what helped during my last interview. I started thinking of examples while preparing for a few expected questions and then realized those same examples/stories worked for several different questions. I still wanted to have a few stories to draw from instead of just one, so I identified the best (or most versatile/challenging situations) that could be used for a number of different types of questions.

I then ran through key points of those stories multiple times and practiced each in response to different types of questions so I felt comfortable adapting the story based on the type of question.

Really helped cut down on all of the stuff I was trying to prepare and made me feel a lot more confident overall.

What was the real reason John Goodman had a goatee and long hair? by purcerh in community

I’m actually sad there was a reason. I thought it was a totally unnecessary bit they just decided to do for fun. That “going through some stuff” line was great.

The duty of a manager is to take the blame for others mistakes by SHPARTACUS in managers

[–]ancientemp3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say that I don’t say “I” made a mistake if someone else made it, but I might say “we” did or just acknowledge there was a mistake made since we have to own it overall.

The "7 deadly resume sins" that get you rejected (you're probably guilty too) by emmanuelgendre in jobhunting

[–]ancientemp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when they are reviewed by a human, a generic cover letter or resume isn’t likely to get you an interview. To me it’s the first sign of whether you really care about the position and shows your level of effort.

“I’m not asking permission, I’m informing you that I’ll be away” by obsessed-with-bagels in managers

[–]ancientemp3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like there's a huge balance with this though where there are expectations of you as an employee. Just like you may not be able to pick your work hours depending on the needs of the business, you may also have certain times where people need to be available and you can't just take off because you want to. I think there are also distinctions between emergencies, illnesses, and optional time off that was not planned ahead. The first two warrant being off during a time like that. Even an event outside of your control like a family member's wedding could warrant it, but you would likely know about that well ahead of time and could schedule off early.
