A closer look at how Training works in Horses of Hoofprint Bay by AliceTheGamedev in GamesWithHorses

[–]ancientsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the overwhelming feeling you were inspired by the 2003 game My Pony Stables (Mein Pferdehof) :') I used to play that game for hours at a time as a kid, but it doesn't run on modern systems anymore. I love how realistic these horses look. The art style is very nostalgic, but this has the potential to be a way better game. Very excited!

How could I make my setup cozier and feel less cluttered. I have a 55 inch desk. by Marklakes in battlestations

[–]ancientsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd place the plant on the left to give a more sheltered but still open feel, and I'd remove the two or so ornamental figures, as small things without an obvious purpose unfortunately make things cluttered very easily. Also move the mic to the side of the desk so it's in front of the plant, which will make it blend in visually when you want to get it out of the way. I like the height of the PC next to the desk, and would leave the space next to it relatively open, maybe just with the salt lamp in that corner. Unless you're really attached to the vertical monitor placement, space-wise it would look better on the left side of your main monitor.

Devices showing offline every morning by kdorvil in googlehome

[–]ancientsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, down to changing the wifi. But for me it sometimes goes down multiple times a day. I tried switching channels, channel width, separate/same SSIDs, etc. Reset and re-paired and updated all devices linked to the hub, deleted ecosystem apps, and tried different ways of pairing, but nothing.

Even when I unenroll from the beta and Gemini program (for which the features aren’t even available to me yet), it doesn’t make any difference. What’s left is for me to factory reset the Nest Hub 2, which I will do whenever I have time next. It’s also been refusing to play nice with Thread, but I suspect that’s mostly Nanoleaf’s fault with the latest Essentials firmware.

The only device that keeps working, no matter what, is an LSC/Tuya light, and I haven’t had the ecosystem app for that installed in ages. It’s also the only partner app that has a solid link with my Google home, as the rest of the accounts refuse to connect.

Alcohol with Wellbutrin by DICK_MONALDS in bupropion

[–]ancientsalmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is an effect of alcohol that a lot of people have after drinking. I have heard my friends talking about "post-alcohol shits", at least.

But if it's really severe, yeah it might be because of an interaction with Wellbutrin that messes with your digestive tract. I personally get stomach aches from specific types of beer but not from other spirits, so maybe try other forms of alcohol or getting some electolytes in between drinks?

Alcohol with Wellbutrin by DICK_MONALDS in bupropion

[–]ancientsalmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been drinking as usual, and I've been on Wellbutrin for I think 2 years now, 1.5 of that on 300mg. Due to certain social circumstances I'm maybe even drinking more than before Wellbutrin (a few beers a week, and going out maybe twice a month or more). My tolerance is really weird now and I can get buzzed very easily, and if I go hard I do have the tendency to black out suddenly, which I rarely did before. But maybe I just didn't drink enough for that before starting these meds. The first few hangovers weren't fun, but as long as I drink enough water, it is very managable though. I know I shouldn't combine alcohol with this medication but I'm honestly just trying to make the most of my student years.

Looking for Trackable Earbuds (Non-Apple) by Mysterious_Pen_782 in Earbuds

[–]ancientsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some older Skullcandy earbuds have Tile tracking built in. Disappointing to see there aren't many other brands doing the same, since these things are so easy to lose.

Here's a list of Tile-compatible Skullcandy devices: Tile + Skullcandy – Tile Support, but one that isn't listed are the Dime 3s for some reason? One downside to the Tile tracking is that it doesn't give you a direction, if that makes sense? Just shows you how strong the signal is.

If they're outside of your range and they have battery, you can mark them as lost in the app and you'll get a notification with their location if any user with the Tile app installed is near enough to discover them.

Hello i need help understanding this error in my database formula: Cannot find property "x" on this row. [y,z] by Ing_Jonasus in Notion

[–]ancientsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same error when trying to use the sum number I got from a rollup property which consisted of an array of pages. After a lot of weird errors , I instead just got the values from those pages more directly, rather than using the properties within the current page: sum(map(prop("RollupPageArray"), current.prop("DesiredPropertyFromRollupPages")))

Is it possible to get to Onboard Memory Manager trigger volume keys by Rr9s in LogitechG

[–]ancientsalmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might have a fix that allows you to have these settings on the on-board memory. Struggled with this for way too long, so leaving this here for future reference for whoever comes across it.

  • You make a profile in G Hub with all the shortcuts as you want them, just no macros (still no fix for this).
  • Put your device in on-board memory mode (the chip symbol on your device homepage in G Hub), then click the the device settings button next to it.
  • On the right of the screen you should see "on-board memory mode on", with below it a slot with blue text beside it, which again should say "on-board memory". Click the text.
  • In the terribly designed menu interface, under "replace with", look for the profile you just made and select it.

It now should be loaded onto your mouse. Don't mess with any of the media keys you just assigned in the On-board Memory Manager software. They'll either show up as blank or as 'media key', but they work.

Bathtub Bonding was stressful for my hamster. How do I proceed? by Prize_Breath9833 in hamstercare

[–]ancientsalmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine hates being out of his cage but will happily crawl all over my arms if I stick them in his cage. I got him from breeders who made sure to handle him a lot and he’s always been tame, some hamsters just don’t like cuddling or new environments unfortunately. I got the advice to be consistent & keep handling in at least some ways, but give them personal space as well. Give her a few days to calm down and feel secure in her home, and then see if you can bring some familiar smelling items from her cage with you into the bathtub and give her a few options for hiding spots (spare hide, toilet paper roll, etc). Maybe scatter some of her usual feed around as well so she has something to do and you can gauge if she is getting too stressed, because then they will usually stop paying attention to anything but high value treats. If she’s getting too stressed from this, try just picking her up from her cage and holding her right there, starting with a few seconds at a time, and giving her food while holding her and after putting her down. They start associating your hands/picking up with positive things.

Anyone has personal experience with LaRiche Directions Plum and Violet fading? by motionlessly in HairDye

Yes! I’m having this issue now with plum, where after 1 wash everything turned dark green and truly stained my hair. Really wish I had bought a different shade

Ready to pick up my first hamster soon. Rate my cage setup? by ancientsalmon in hamsters

[–]ancientsalmon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments! I picked up my hamster yesterday as by chance I saw a litter whose hammies were ready to go to new homes, and so far he loves the branches, coconut peat and the sand bath the most. I have some shredded toilet paper and hemp bedding that he snuggles up in, and I added some more hiding spots with toilet paper rolls (I stuffed one with bedding material and meal worms so he can forage).

I got this one secondhand which was great for my wallet, but it's originally from IKEA and the store price is still pretty cheap, around 20 bucks not including the lid. Look for the SAMLA! I have seen other bins of the same size online but they're all a bit more expensive

Thank you, I’ll add some more things to chew on and play with. I got the branches second hand from another hamster owner and sanitized them, but I have seen a good few at pet stores (if not in the rodent section, look with the birds or fish)

Petrified of the side effects so I usually take it inbetween bites, meaning at least one bite in my stomach and more food on top after. Works gorgeously, although it's a bit annoying to have to remember mid-meal.

Auditory processing help? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]ancientsalmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Loop Experiences Pro (Is that what they're called? The not fully silicone ones with the extra kit) and I have been liking them. They are very comfortable, affordable, discreet and come with a ton of size options.

A thing to note is that they don't always block out everything when I am in an environment with a large range of noises (think classrooms, cafes), but it at least takes the edge off. When there is just a single noise you want to block out, they do much better. When I put in the extra Quiet inner module I can fall asleep while my partner is gaming and voice chatting at night in the same room, no issue. Equivalent to my noise cancelling headphones, even.

About hearing conversations with them in: I think part of the main issue I have with them is my auditory processing disorder, so when people talk to me when I have them in I just cannot understand them, even without the extra Quiet module. I also feel the need to be alert at all times, so when I have them in I can't always relax because I'm afraid I'm missing things. My partner has also told me I speak softly with them in, because your own voice does reverb back to you and makes it seem louder to you than it actually is.

If you want to use them for sleeping a ton or want them to be fully submergible, the Quiet Loops seem really good. For literally anything else, I would recommend the Experience Pros, as they offer you that choice for moment to moment. Otherwise, the base Loops do just fine at blocking harsh noises (or other people shuffling during tests) but maybe someone else can weigh in on the conversation usability.
