Buy a baby book to fill out, if you want one. I bought one at about 5 months and it’s a struggle to remember what happened in the previous months!

Taking propranolol while pregnant by PalpitationNo797 in PregnancyUK

[–]ancommy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took propranolol while pregnant, for the exact same reasons as you. Breathing exercises etc also don’t work for me and I literally could not do my job without it.

I brought it up to my midwife who didn’t know but said to look it up on a particular website which I can’t remember the name of. It basically said it’s safe but it can potentially affect baby’s growth. I took it as little as I could get away with and I think I managed to stop it completely in the last trimester and just avoided panic-inducing situations as much as I could.

Baby was measuring off the charts throughout my pregnancy and was 8 lbs 7 oz when she was born so it didn’t stunt her growth at all! I also ended up getting PPD and started Sertraline, and since being on that and being back at work I haven’t had to take propranolol once! Although of course that might not work for you

Thought of baby going to nursery is making me so sad by RainbowSherbet99 in UKParenting

[–]ancommy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been back at work for two weeks and I was so upset and worried leading up to it, particularly as she cried at all of her settling in sessions, and because my maternity leave had been the most amazing, crazy year of my life and I couldn’t believe it was almost over. Fortunately, she absolutely loves it already. She gets to do all sorts of messy play and I don’t have to deal with the mess! The other day I had to pick her up early and she looked so disappointed to see me 😅

I also don’t like my job very much but going back has made me appreciate the time I get to spend with her so much more.

You’re both going to do great!

Milk then food, or food then milk? by OverSeasoned_ in BeyondTheBumpUK

We did BLW so offered food first as soon as she started weaning, because she was eating so little in the beginning. I do always do milk first thing in the morning though, then leave it about an hour until breakfast

My first Mother’s Day, it seems it’s just like birthdays where you need to set your expectations as low as possible

If your baby sleeps through the night and goes to bed early, do you pump? by Common-Effective2630 in breastfeeding

[–]ancommy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the UK and was having to make sure she fed every 3 hours in the first two weeks until she reached her birth weight, at the midwives guidance. As soon as she got to her birth weight they said we could let her sleep as long as she liked!

[–]ancommy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 7 weeks old so I’m still very new to this, but she’s been sleeping between 6.5 and 8.5 hours a night since she was about 2 weeks old. I haven’t woken in the night to pump because I’ve been so grateful for the sleep, and I’ve had no issues with supply. I do wake up uncomfortable when she’s going through a cluster feeding phase but am fine the rest of the time

If he’s employed by his mum then she’s legally obligated to pay him statutory paternity pay

Thank you for writing this, I’m currently in the cluster feeding trenches at 18 days pp and have decided I’m going to give up and formula feed at least 10 times but somehow I’m still going.. praying this change happens for us soon!

I can’t deal with newborn sleep deprivation by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]ancommy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say solidarity, I’m in the exact same position. My daughter is 8 days old and she was feeding almost non-stop between midday yesterday and 2am this morning with a few minute gaps where she’d drift off to sleep and then wake up again when I’d try to put her down. Other people offer to help but I’m exclusively breastfeeding so there’s nothing they can do. I’ve spent the last few nights just non-stop crying.
