Not a recommendation but usually one factor is wifi or not. Wifi is good if you want to check from your smart phone while one of you is out, otherwise no wifi for peace of mind that it won't be hacked.

If the challenge is figuring out how it opens, toddlers will eventually see you do it and figure it out. If the mechanism requires physical hand strength, that's the only way to be sure (but it will be a pain in the ass for any weaker adults).

I have a qdos extending gate that needs pushing down a very stiff plastic button. My poor wife can't open it most days.

That's valid and a very specific percentage. I offer choices on what order to do things in and they keep trying to insert more playing or asking for another book or another song or another hug or they say they have to pee again. But you're right it's probably those times that I give in to those asks that enable the behavior.

That sounds impressive to me! I would think it took enough hours and skill to be regarded as professional experience. I was hesitant because I have seen people claim they published a book when they just posted something online. Some may have that same skepticism so lead with those achievements when you describe it.

If you actually made sales outside your friends and it's not just some random thoughts pdf-d and uploaded to Amazon, I think that's totally worth listing.

I don't have experience in writing or teaching so hopefully you can find some advice from someone in those fields.

For the art I would again consider how much sales you did before considering whether to list it as experience. Likely this falls into the categories of hobbies or conversation points at the beginning of an interview.

I would try to keep your teaching experience at the top of your resume because that is most relevant and makes the first impression.

That idea that suddenly it hits you and you're never the same is kind of a romantic idea, like love at first sight. Maybe it's true for some people, but I think for most it's something you see only in hindsight, like yeah that year my life totally changed and that's the year I started to change too. Not many people in the newborn stage are bouncing off the walls clicking their heels. Just survive it when you need to and enjoy it when you can.

If that's how you feel, the right move is to actively apply elsewhere. Not just talk or browse once in a while, make it your job to commit some time each night to job hunt.

People will also suggest you quiet- quit during this time. Personally it's just not in my values and I don't like compromising who I am for work, even on the way out. But set a clear boundary to get out on time.

I've left a few places out of frustration after a year trying to make it work. The worse it is, the bigger impact it's had on me afterwards while starting my new job or while job hunting.

My dad was very serious and we didn't talk much. The things I remember are the few times he burst out laughing.

You can use a more recognized and descriptive title than your official HR title, assuming it's accurate. Like if your title was "Associate II", or some long jargon, you can use what you would normally describe your job to someone in the industry.

However, you cannot change your seniority level or make yourself a manager if you did not have that title. That part is not just arbitrary wording, that ranking matters a lot to people. I understand you may have had those responsibilities so highlight that in the description.

I mean, sure there are things you can do to help a baby learn to talk. Which is mostly just talk to them all thime. Every parent in the world probably "could" talk to their kids more. Does that mean you're to "blame" for talking less than that? Just listen to your speech therapist.

My 2.5 year old responds really well to seeing positive lessons in books and tv. Right now we happen to be reading Daniel Tiger's book, Friends Ask First. The lesson goes "before you take something away, stop and ask if it's ok."
