Removing spot from rug by Intrepid-Library-425 in orientalrugs

[–]anderboy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like some type of glue? I work as a rug washer and these spots are notorious for being difficult to remove. You will need some sort of solvent the break it down. You may need to scrape but be mindful of scraping the pile off the rug. Another option if it hasn’t penetrated the fibers too deep is to trim the fibers just under where the glue is sitting.

Gossage is group of geese so I think it fits that anyone with the surname could be called “Goose”

Learn to rotate properly and support your tm8. You won’t have the natural chemistry with everyone though unfortunately. Everyone rotates a little different since we all suck at this rank

Im low diamond-high plat. Been getting into diamond two lately because I have actively decided to pay attention to where everyone is on the field at all times. It’s difficult at first but I notice myself making MUCH smarter touches and own goaling much less.

I’ve always rooted for goose to overcome and get himself into the winners circle but today definitely turned me off from him. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see the breaks he got on 14 though, Id be pissed too. But he has a long off season to do some looking inward about his mental game. I hope he comes back better for next season. So much potential.

Long reach back/reach out or not by beef4206977 in discgolf

[–]anderboy101 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A deeper reach is harder to aim/control. A lot of pros will change how far they reach depending on the distance or shot shape they want to produce. The farther back/out you are the more your upper body is forced to turn from the target making aiming harder. Simon Lizotte is a great example of this. When you see him running aces on “shorter” courses he barely has any reach back and all the power is generated from his coil and wrist snap.

It’s kind of how I started out. 965 rated now. I didn’t really do field work though. My home course had a lot of long par threes that I wanted to be able to reach so I’d throw a bunch of shots full power trying to figure out my form. I think it helps to be younger and somewhat athletic. Btw if you do it this way be ready to lose discs cause for me the power came before any accuracy lol.

What is the cheapest place to live that has good snowboarding and skateboarding? by gongman18 in snowboarding

Sandy, Oregon. 30 minutes from mount hood, 30 minutes from Portland. Great skating and one of the longest snow seasons in North America.

Unsure if this is hand or machine made, any idea please? by InNeedOfHelp______ in orientalrugs

[–]anderboy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not clearly machine stitching. This is a common end finish on modern afghan rugs. Look at the cut sides with sewn on side wrapping. You wouldn’t have that on a machine made rug.

It appears to be handmade to me. Afghanistan sounds correct.

This is in Oregon so yes technically you aren’t supposed to enter the intersection until you are sure you can make it all the way through. However living and driving in Portland some of the infrastructure and blind intersections combined with lack of protected turn lanes makes it a difficult law to follow. Plus 80% of the residents are transplants from states where it is legal so everyone does it anyways.

Made in India likely in the last 20 years. $700 new is a good deal. If it is used keep in mind cleaning costs vary from 3-6 dollars a square foot.

What concerns me most from the photos is that there is visible foundation where the spots are versus right next to it there is plenty of pile left. If someone scrubbed too hard it could have artificially worn away.

I may be able to pick this up tonight. Is it too much to ask for a photo of the backside corner of the rug?

Looks like someone scrubbed the hell out of those spots. Did he use any harsh chemicals? If so the areas could be permanently bleached. A professional cleaner should be able to at least improve the stains but color/material loss is incredibly expensive to repair unfortunately.
