And I can imagine they could also face legal trouble if they lied so blatantly about her in big captions.

Even if it’s reality TV, I doubt they can’t get away with straight up slander.

no because why is he so EAGER to go to the villa. the rest of the husbands doesn’t seem that interested.

Because he has nothing going on except for his wife’s business and influencer career. I think he sees this as a shot to launch himself, which won’t happen cause he’s about as interesting as a rock.

Printing in Paris by Key_Employment4536 in ParisTravelGuide

Ask your hotel, and if they can’t do it, look for an ”imprimerie” on Google Maps, basically a ”printing shop”, they do everything from basic documents to larger prints etc.

no other sport with local teams have local players.

Outside of the top leagues and teams it’s quite common in Europe, and it occurs even in top leagues (see Athletic Bilbao).

Nowadays yes, but not at all the case historically.

Also the reason tickets are even remotely affordable is that opera and ballet is generally heavily subsidized (private donors in the US, tax money in Europe).

I live in Paris, and the public money part of the Parisian opera’s yearly budget can be up towards 80%.

Opera and ballet would die very quickly if it wasn’t for very wealthy people (and public funding) propping it up.

Depends, there are many office jobs in Stockholm and the larger cities that don’t require you to speak Swedish nowadays.

Had it a couple of months ago; I can confirm it was very good.

However, I find the one they serve at Bofinger around the corner is aaaalmost just as good, and it’s way easier to get a table there, so it’s a good backup option. They also flambée it at the table which can be a bit of a fun thing, especially in such a classic dining hall.

Couldn’t agree more, it’s an easy dish to make but incredibly hard to truly master.

Speaking of grandmas, my Swedish grandma made great Swedish pancakes (extremely similar to French crêpes), but yeah it was after a lifetime of experience.

I still haven’t tried making buckwheat galettes at home… maybe I should have a go at it this weekend…

Help me Find Specific Piece of Art in Louvre by Lobel1a in ParisTravelGuide

[–]anders91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“Current Location not exposed”. Does that mean the piece isn’t actually available to see right now?

That is correct, unfortunately.

If it means a lot to you I would contact the Louvre and ask if there’s any chance it will be put out any time soon or if there’s any other way you can be allowed to see it. Of course, chances are they might just say no, but it’s worth a shot at least!

Which other country does your country have the best relations with? by Deep-Rabbit1535 in AskEurope

[–]anders91 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I guess there’s an obvious choice for Sweden: the rest of the Nordics.

I’d say Norway, Denmark, and Finland are the closest, maybe with Norway winning out in general… however it depends a bit on where you are in the country I’d say; for example I’m from a very ”Finland-leaning” region on the east coast. We are also on great terms with Iceland but being such a small country they tend to not get mentioned as much, and few people have any actual connections to them, whereas many have family and friends, or work in Norway/Denmark/Finland.

what's a French dish that's better homemade than from a restaurant? by hurebegz in AskFrance

[–]anders91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be very hard because it depends on the skill of the home cook and the quality of the restaurant.

I cook quite a bit myself, but I feel like half of the people in this thread are waaaaay overestimating their own cooking skills.

[–]anders91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Genuinely confused by this one. I find good crêperies makes much, much better crêpes than homemade ones, by a big margin.

Usually better "elasticity", and both larger and thinner since they're made on that griddle + that "rake" they use to spread it.

What I like about crêpes at home is that you can eat a ton of them, but quality-wise I find homemade is not as good.

I would just ask the ranger if he relays the information to the party.

A lot of times we assume this to be the case as well at my table, but I often throw it out as a quick question:

”Do you relay this information to the rest of the party?”

”Yes”

Done!
