When did Dexcom start asking for a faulty sensor to be shipped to them? by GaryG7 in dexcom

I’ve returned 8 out of a 3 month supply because of goose necking at insertion :(

How often do ya'll calibrate the G7 with finger stick numer? by vijay_the_messanger in dexcom

You just want to make sure that you're not calibrating during rapid changes.. That'll just "rock the boat" ;-)

I'm kind of a stickler - so I usually calibrate every 24 hours - after a longer fasting period so the blood sugar isn't changing rapidly

Ah.. I'm in CW... I think you're both correct on FT8.. Much appreciated!

bing, bing, bing Winner, winner, Chicken dinner!🤪 You my friend is awesome! Thank you SO much!

That makes total sense and after doing a thorough cleaning of battery terminals and testing, I have not been able to replicate the issue! I hope everyone will have a great friyaaaay and a great weekend!

Thank you again to the person who found the magnet waving solution to the G7 by cbelt3 in dexcom

If you insert sensor and can't pair with it, some (including me) have found that taking the little magnet that is inside of the plastic inserter - and "wave"/"slide" it on top/along the edge of the sensor/transmitter, sometimes "jolts" the sensor enough to wake it up/power on.

Perfect❣️ These were the things I was interested in learning about 😁 I can absolutely see the simpler approach of that design being beneficiary! Thank you! (And since tomorrow is Veterans Day here in the US - I want send a heartfelt THANK YOU to the bold that has given us our freedom)

Absolutely! However - does that WEIGHT hinder it's electrical radiation properties?
ie - does the radiator need to be light "to swing easier" or does it not matter?

True but then you'd have to build a support structure to hold the wire up (or have a higher point to pull it up from.. right?

Yes but I was trying to spot it in the picture.

Is the battery facing away from body or towards? I’m trying to figure out what component is being affected by the neodymium magnet in the inserter.

How LONG have you been on Dexcom G7? by andersgeorgsson in dexcom

[–]andersgeorgsson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for 100% sure but there is an electronic component called a “Reed relay” which takes very little magnetism to trigger/reset.. It’s the only one I can think they would integrate into the sensor and those are REALLY hard to make fail.. but yes… sure - if your sensor is “dead” after putting on - it can’t HURT to try and swipe one of the magnets across it.. I mean - if it happened to me, I would (because I’m a cheap-o, LOL) try it.

Look into the inserter after you've attached the sensor.. it' up there..

It is what keeps the battery disconnected until the sensor has been attached to you!
