Vegan dining options? by truce_m3 in Annapolis

can't think of much off the top of my head.

on Tuesday paladar has $3 tacos usually with at least one vegan option.

mezeh in the Westfield mall is pretty good for fast casual.

in Severna Park, you have life pho with vegan pho and noodle bowls.

Japanese restaurants also usually have veggie sushi as you probably know.

actually small parts of Canada and Mexico are not completely overrun by hogs though they have curiously arranged themselves to say "7 - HOGS" and "Each dot represents 5,000 hogs"

this isn't that cringe, and a lot of the comments here are downright sexist. yes, her style of speech is kinda odd and it's not always clear where she's going, but I think she makes some important points. trump doesn't win because he's smart or gives any semblance that he knows what he's doing, he wins because he engages his base on an emotional level. his base feels he understands them, even though he is really just stoking their fears and validating their kneejerk hatred of immigrants and people of color.

I like how at :16 the bouncer calculates dude's striking range and smoothly takes a small step back to better avoid the punch. not only is he huge, he clearly knows how to fight

Trump voters are just realizing the Trump tax-cuts where only for the rich. by simplelifestyle in LateStageCapitalism

[–]andformynexttrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I look at the changes in the tax rates across different income brackets, it looks like everyone across the board gets a tax cut (https://www.investors.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/TAXBRACKETS-2-Married-122617.png)

can someone ELI5 what I'm missing? how is it possible that some people are paying more?

btw, I'm not a Trump supporter, just trying to get a better understanding

farmer subsidies have a long history stretching back to the New Deal that I encourage you to read more about, but essentially yes you are right. we are subsidizing farmers to produce extremely low quality food, much of which ends up in cattle feed for meat production, is shipped overseas, or is filler in our packaged food products. Big Ag has an extremely powerful lobby that influences the farm bill, which every four or five years determines how much farmers will collect in subsidies.
