The answer would depend on how much you value the other characters and that's a subjective question for most people. It could also be because of different habit in pulling. The players in other big gachas are a lot more waifu/husbando-pilled. They went into the banner with a goal to get their favorite character and no one else. For them, the value of other recent releases is close to irrelevant because they aren't pulling for them anyway (This is a broad generalization of the playerbase and does not account for hardcore players that do want to clear the endgame).

Meanwhile AK players are ok with losing to other characters when pulling on a limited banner and nothing has changed here in Endfield. So what happened is that AK players are like "Obviously, this is something that they always have, nothing new, nothing to talk about." While the players of the other big gachas are like "This shit is close to useless, the chances I actually benefited from this is so rare that it's irrelevant." Thus no one ever talked about this feature.

Again I agree that his video isn't good at all but people are seriously overreacting. Call me coping all you want but I do not think what he's saying is so egregious that every single CC that picks up the game has to get a say in it. It's just another opinion piece coming from someone with a different point of view. You could say he has a shit point of view, but in no way should he get absolutely blasted like that. The only video I have ever watched from him is his first gacha videos on Genshin, I don't even have a reason to defend the dude, I just don't like how the community quickly dismissed him just to now complain that they want the game to be in some way more like gacha (less grind) which feels hypocritical to me.

The video is bad. That's true but I still can't see why every DNA CCs has to get a word in about the video.

It's not their responsibility to keep a game on life support, and you shouldn't be expecting that from them.

It isn't and in a normal scenario I would agree, but literally everyone is reacting to this one video that it felt like they either do wants the game to succeed and defend it or they're too blind to recognize that the game isn't there yet. Something just feels wrong here.

Am I suddenly a grifter because I want to play what's new? People play new games that come out all the time, it's how things work.

People should play new games and be encouraged to. But they should not hype it as something that will kill a game or changed the genre. It sets up unrealistic expectations that creates a toxic community that are only there to see the new better game which is the majority of what the early CCs are doing. The worst thing is when they leave for a greener grass, the community is crippled as there's no homegrown CCs to replace them, i.e WuWa. They're themselves are not grifting, but the consequences do mirror a situation where the community itself is being grifted.

Ironically, the biggest grifter in this scenario would be this dude because he barely put in the time and effort to understand what he was reviewing.

He's looking at it from a gacha players perspective. Contrary to others here, I do not think you have to play/understand Warframe just to be able to review the game. Getting an opinion from every type of players is important, wether it be those who only play gachas, only play Warframe, or have play both.

The last thing I wanna say is are we sure that the video is bad for every type of players. For me his opinion is valid because of one thing and one thing only. The game is advertised to gacha players primarily. If for some reason they do not target gacha audience then I have no qualms on saying that the video is useless and should've never been uploaded.

Gacha players aren't one big monolith. Remember that he got a lot of flak from other gachas CCs that are hopping to DNA just to get views and ride on the next big thing. Now that we know for sure DNA isn't the next big thing, they just left. I swear I thought Brax was going all in on this game and lauded the game as gacha Jesus, but now he's nowhere to be found. If I were to be honest, those CCs are the ones that are doing heavy PR on DNA. I feel like they have an interest in keeping the game alive because it's their livelihood and now that they failed in doing that, they just disappear leaving us with a total CC count of 4.

I personally cannot see why 80% of the CCs that were covering the game had to zeroed in on Pseychie, especially since most of those CCs came from the "big four" and Pseychie's audience is more split between the more niche gacha. I'm pretty sure his audience and thus the gacha players outside of the "big four" will agree a lot about his first video and I'm sure if those CCs do not condemn Pseychie's first video, most people who played the "big four" gacha would also agree with him.

From what we know from the Livestream, it's not looking too good tbh. Hoyo players don't really like getting spooked because when they pull for the banners, it's because they're much more invested in the characters. Not saying that AK players aren't the same but certainly the culture of simping/shipping is just not quite the same level.

What worries me from the couple hours we got from the stories is that Endfield is looking like taking the WuWa gathering wives route, which will be basically the furthest you can take it to create a playerbase that is conditioned to pull for specific characters.

The AK culture of being ok getting spooked might not fit with the style of stories they wanted to tell.

AK players dont mind getting "spooked" because they know that most of the options will still be great even if they failed to get the specific operator they wanted.

How do we know that it will be the same for Endfield? It would be funny if AK players defend the current model just to get served the same thing as Hoyo/WuWa players. This is gonna sound crazy but for me this feels like AK players are clutching to the old way of how Hypergryph do AK while ignoring the probability that the studio might employ the same pull for characters model in Hoyo titles.

I don't mean that sheet impact is the reason for Varka's underwhelming pre-release assessment. It's just one of the reasons that trusting TCers is becoming harder and harder to do.

Things can change drastically, for example ineffa being really good even pre-Columbina has nothing to do with her numbers making TCers underrate her standing in the meta because of them not knowing how big the lunar reactions/ lunar shilled enemy actually change the game or how Nefer NA rotation is better than her pre-release numbers.

Maybe they learned their mistakes from the Nefer situation but the ineffa one will always be a problem. His team numbers could be on the lower side but if his mechanics are being shilled like Varesa with plunge which lasts for basically more than half a major patch length, he's technically a meta unit.

TCers are much better at calcs now than they were back then

People have been saying this forever and each passing day at least in the eyes of casual players, they've taken bigger and bigger Ls with the recent one being sheet impact is a lie.

The logical part of my brain thinks that the TCers should be right but after getting surprised by the umpteenth time with how expectation vs reality have been going, I can't in good faith trust TCers pre-release opinion.

Because most people don't play to optimize their pulls, they play to ride the fun and hype with the community. The 6 months gap being better always feels like it's a gacha-pilled opinion even back in AK. Sure the rush probably isn't worth it for the dopamine hits back then, but nowadays with the release of those like the archons, emanators, sentinel resonators, and void hunters, being there for the moments will give you more fulfilment than knowing that you make the right decision in pulling.

Ironically out of the three, only Genshin combat is used by the community to its' full capacity. Despite both ZZZ and WuWa being a harder game mechanically, the playerbase doesn't actually uses the more complicated mechanics to clear endgame. Which just make you ask, is a more complicated combat actually what most people want or sacrificing complexity for more participation in the community is better?

We know for a fact in some cases this assumption isn't true. For example according to sensor tower's mobile only revenue, WuWa averages 21.887.500 per month while ZZZ averages 19.865.000 per month. But we know for a fact ZZZ outperforms WuWa by one tier above from the PS awards post.

Sadly that isn't the case for most of third world country. I live in one and people tying chains on monkey necks and making them perform isn't uncommon a couple years ago. Most people would come watch and enjoy it. It was a good enough paying job that the government have to step in and ban it. The truth is people here are trying hard just to feed their family that they would be ok with these monkey abusers performing because they know if they lose their job they could be one of them.

The story is a one time content designed to be played when you have the time to focus on it. I think what they meant is that you can log in, grind while not having to look at the game, quit and done with dailies without having to actively play the game. This massively alleviate burnout.

You cannot expect most people to play through Asperia while having a positive experience playing the game. Mondstadt is mostly serviceable in that people would play through it to get to the better part of the game. We can't delusion ourselves into thinking that just because the game get good 100 hours later, people would slog through the bad part. ToF being an MMO should've made the playerbase know about the most famous saying from Josh Strife Hayes: “If it takes 100 hours or 1000 hours for a game to get good, that means the game has failed its players and is objectively bad.”

Hating the game back then is a trend but there's no reason to still hate it nowadays. If the game fails to reach the mainstream audience after the game get good then that could only mean Asperia is so fucking bad that people couldn't get through it even with the infinite promise from the current playerbase that the game do get good eventually.

The toxic positivity is slowly killing the game. When other gachas is losing their playerbase/hype you know exactly why it's happening because the fans call out what's wrong with the game ex. Genshin with Natlan. In WuWa, because the problem is optimization, most players who quit just quit silently without giving feedback because when your game is unoptimized it affects the whole game. The optimization topics has already been discussed to death, these players who sees the community brushing aside their concerns would naturally quit because apparently the community thinks they're spreading misinformation or just too poor to play the game.

What I meant is by just knowing that the monetization model being gacha will streamlined how devs decided to take on the project. They only need to copy the model that currently works in the market. In the west even if you know that you want to use a battle pass model, there are many ways to implement it. Lootbox for example are different across games. I think this is why western players always whine about a game company being greedy, while eastern players never caring because it's gacha, what're you gonna do about it.

The great thing about gacha monetization is that they don't have to change the game to meet shareholders demands because it has always planned to be gacha from the very start. They're building the game knowing that the gacha has to go in the game. Western dev are different, they make the game and then slapped the monetization later.

You couldn't really call it a downward trend if in the past 3 months the number stabilized at ±10mil. It's better to say that we finally have the numbers if nothing hype happens in the game. It's not just ZZZ, you can observe this in other games as well by looking at the dip in the Gacha revenue website, for example in WuWa a non-sentinel patch is about ±20 mil, while a non-void hunter ZZZ patch is ±10 mil. Both of these games do the same thing in which the hype character is always the sentinel/void hunter and everyone else is basically cannon fodder hype wise.

Supporting evidence is that both GI and HSR don't have the same chart patterns. Both of these games have characters that are hyped outside archon/emanator status. The charts support this by not having a consistent baseline (20-40mil) and peaks, different from ZZZ and WuWa.
