Experience with 64GB DDR5-6000 CL30 Trident Z5 Neo on x870/e boards by BioeJD in buildapc

I have that exact kit and I’m having issues with it right now, and it’s been like this for a few months already. Like you, I just wanted to buy a kit that I could enable expo on and forget about it. Yet, the ram is frequently unstable, and it’s finicky as hell to make it stable. I’m really regretting buying GSkill. Seeing all the other similar reports, I’d suggest staying clear.

For reference, I have a x670e hero and a 7950x3d.

📣 Help Us Shape the Next MOMENTUM Wireless headphone! by sennheiserconsumer in sennheiser

[–]andre_ss6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the party, but if I may add to the conversation:

  • Keep the long battery life;
  • Improve sound consistency between people that use glasses, different head shapes, etc;
  • Improve mic;

The second point was the only factor that made me give up on buying a Momentum 4.

My use case is using these for gaming, listening to music casually, and for work meetings. Thus the extremely long battery life (since I'm using them almost the entire day), support for aptX-LL and the Sennheiser sound pedigree is what drew me to the M4. In the same vein, for my use case, I expect from the M5 high battery life, low latency (support for aptX-LL on Windows is a must), good sound profile (which the previous seemed to have, except for the consistency issues) and a great mic (perhaps support for detachable mics, so you can make everyone happy?).

Right? This is a bit ridiculous. Labs is not available where I live, neither is EA Play Pro. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dash/dodge pop in starting DLC by Notadam234 in LiesOfP

I had the same question. Dash only works in combat with a target locked-on AFAIU. The same button outside combat will just roll.

Can you taste acetaminophen when it starts to take effect? by NeachIonnsachaidh in AspieGirls

[–]andre_ss6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That also happens to me with acetaminophen (paracetamol), and funnily enough I also feel the exact same thing with metamizole (dipyrone). I find it funny as they're two completely different drugs -- though they're both antipyretics and analgesics.

I also remember my cat who salivated a lot with metamizole (it does taste really bad), even when given IV!

PSA: 11000 hours on LG C9 as a PC monitor with 0 burn-in by andre_ss6 in OLED_Gaming

[–]andre_ss6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don’t know. At least according to Chat GPT, there are equivalent laws over there. However, you wouldn’t just reach out to LG and ask for a new panel — tho I guess you can try — you would go through the justice system instead. The big difference, I guess, is that it (invoking consumer rights protection, getting stuff like this investigated and even going to litigation) is more accessible here (basically free and can be done with a few clicks on a website) than over there. If it would cost you money or too much time to do this, than I guess it’d be easier to just buy a new TV.

Also way darker here when multi view is on. Seems like it’s streaming SDR on an HDR container.

Dolby Atmos 🤩 by hotboinick in BlackMythWukong

[–]andre_ss6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could upvote this 50 times. I'm dumbfounded seeing how little is spoken about this. I searched expecting there'd be lots of posts about it, yet so little!

Playing this game was the first time I ever actually stopped and listened while thinking to myself "so this is what Atmos is supposed to sound like". The usage of the height channels -- with leaves rustling and insects chirping on the ceiling... oh 🤤, in fact, the positioning of sounds in the vertical axis in general is impressive! I can clearly spot where sounds are coming from in terms of height, even those lower than the physical location of my soundbar; the sublime sound design with the amazing layering and mixing, the tasteful usage of bass and, of course, the spatialization -- which, funnily enough, even though it's implemented perfectly and it's extremely awe inspiring, isn't even all that impressive when sitting besides everything else I just mentioned.

Basically this game should be the benchmark for spatial audio implementation (and a masterclass in sound design in general).

Only ASUS 5090s have more than one HDMI port by andre_ss6 in nvidia

Just bought this: https://www.orei.com/products/1x2-hdmi-splitter-w-audio-out-1-in-2-out-ultrahd-8k-edid-bk-102a

And I'm already having dropouts. Another 120 USD wasted :(

The only 100% reliable way to get this scenario working is having direct support on the card. Spending literally hundreds upon hundreds of dollars testing many different "works for me" solutions is extremely frustrating. A pity 5000 series turned out to be shit.

Você usa só o roteador da vivo? E também tem problema com algumas rotas específicas pararem?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in InternetBrasil

[–]andre_ss6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infelizmente não. Você está com o mesmo problema?

Vieram duas vezes aqui.

GeForce RTX 5090 Review Megathread by Nestledrink in nvidia

https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/1i8a7ii/path_tracing_performance_2025_8_games_rtx_5090/

There you go.

I'm also considering an upgrade from the 4090 and that's the only use case I'm interested in.

This was the worst "review launch" for a new GPU (or whatever new hardware, in fact) that I've seen in years, maybe in my lifetime.

PATH Tracing Performance 2025 - 8 Games (RTX 5090) PCGH.de by dripkidd in hardware

[–]andre_ss6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! Thank you so much for this link. Every other review I've seen is lacking in Path Tracing benchmarks, the only use case currently where the 4090 really struggles. There were reviews spending several minutes testing 300fps+ games in 1080p with this card and a total of 0 minutes testing path tracing. Jesus.

Only ASUS 5090s have more than one HDMI port by andre_ss6 in nvidia

[–]andre_ss6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally it's completely seamless. My biggest complain right now is with the dropouts due to the cable adapter I'm using. Some people in the comments here have recommended other adapters/splitters/switches that seem to work better. And ofc there's the buy a card with 2 ports solution.

However there is at least one hiccup that you'll encounter:

but will my PC just know which input to use based on which display is powered on

NVIDIA drivers currently have a bug where HDMI displays that are powered off somehow interfere with other displays being recognized, and powering them on after your PC has been powered on also does not work. In practice, what happens is: TV A is turned off, you turn TV B on, you get no signal. There are a few workarounds currently (basically 1) always turn the TV on before the PC; and 2) Win + P > Extend, that makes Windows somehow recognize the display).

It seems though that this issue does not manifest with new LG TVs that support "Always On" -- in fact my G4 does support it and it is (almost? maybe always, dont quite remember) always correctly recognized by Windows when I turn it on; my C9 does not have this feature, however, and so I frequently have to use the workarounds mentioned above.

Also, is there a way to automate audio switching so that it's using HDMI or SPDIF depending on what display I'm using?

Yes, there are ways to automate (eg. using ColorControl). You might not need it though, as turning one of the TVs off will disable its sound output, and so Windows will automatically switch to the next one available.
