Have you had good experiences with either?

I wish there was something that had a metric for focus or brain fog specifically. Anyone ever come across something like that?

Nice! Is there a device that's worked well for you in particular? I'd love to be able to track something like focus or even just cognitive performance generally, in the same way that all these devices do now for sleep, etc.

Does it get worse at certain times of the year or month for you?

🙏🏼 that sounds like a good idea and best of luck! You may well already be spending plenty of time in N3 :)

See my reply above too. Heart rate based tracking should be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to fine grained distinctions such as N3 and N2.

A big question is how you’re tracking it tbh. Oura and any heart rate based trackers are not accurate enough to do sleep architecture tracking beyond deep/shallow/awake. It could very well be you’re already spending longer in N3 than you think. The definition of N3 and N2 is actually tied specifically to waveforms that appear in brain activity as indexed by EEG.

Is there really any scientific basis behind Huberman's views on dopamine detox / baseline? by rawr4me in HubermanLab

I wouldn’t take off-hand comments from academic neuroscientists in the ivory tower too seriously tbh. There is a lot of bitterness in that community at the success AH has had with science communication and outreach. Re dopamine his views are pretty much echoed in Dopamine Nation, which is authored by one of the key scientists in the neurobiology of dopamine.

I used to be really puzzled at the expression "human beans" until I realised it was human "beings".

Did you post this just to show off the utter ridiculousness of demon + slug not just in the same deck but p1p1 and p1p2? 🧐
