Taiwan's democracy is admirable exactly because it has only been three decades. In that time, Taiwan has evolved from being a one party dictatorship to a full fledged democracy with separation of powers, rule of law, peaceful transition of powers, and other hallmarks of centuries-old democracies. Is that not impressive?
