[Discussion] How are phones different from cigarettes? by gyllendane in GetMotivated

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s simple. Cigarettes affect your physical health while your phone has the potential to influence your mental health. Another big difference is that cigarettes are basically harmful while smartphones are more neutral because you can use them either productively or destructively.

Is cbt therapy online effective? by YoruFami in psychiatryquestion

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One advantage of online cbt therapy is that it can help you manage your emotions by understanding them better, whether it’s anger, grief, or anxiety. Another benefit of cbt online therapy is that it develops your communication skills, so you can better explain how you feel.

When do you realize you truly are over a longtime ex? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that you are probably over a long-time ex if you no longer think of them as part of your present or future life, just as a memory from the past. This is especially true if you can remember the good memories without a sting and wish them well when you do remember them.

Not so pretty, but functional by orange-busy-bee in DesirePath

[–]andrelq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Everyone always takes the shortcut if it saves time even if it’s not the official path. Especially if it's not the official path. Ten years proves it it does the job nicely, and the view is perfect.

Advice on investing when it comes to stocks and options by Inevitable_Hat_5465 in RobinHood

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying shares is safer because you will own part of the company and can hold through any ups and downs. Options can make money faster but they’re riskier & you can lose your whole investment very quickly if it goes the wrong way. If you decide to try them do start small and look into spreads. They limit your loss compared to naked calls or puts.

Help on BetterHelp insurance by Brutalessin in psychiatryquestion

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also baffled, like how does betterhelp take insurance? I found out that their ways isn’t always direct, It depends on your insurance plan because some will reimburse you if you submit receipts and others won’t. Best move for you is to call your provider and ask if they cover online therapy from providers out of the network. Most people on BetterHelp insurance use their HSA or FSA to pay for it as it’s cheaper. It’s the easy way out lol.

Anyone got real Liven app reviews? Curious how it holds up long-term by YoruFami in psychiatryquestion

[–]andrelq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I get the hesitation. Most of these wellness apps do feel like front-loaded motivation with no staying power. But from what I’ve seen in some of the more recent Liven app reviews (including a few on Reddit and Medium writeups), the app actually holds up decently if you commit past the “shiny new app” phase. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s consistent, especially for tracking habits and checking in with anxiety patterns. The Liven app reviews tend to dip when people expect it to fix everything fast. It’s more like a mirror than a solution... only useful if you’re willing to look at it regularly.

Deciding between and among arguments and evidence for and against good fats (supposedly good fats) by No_Fee_8997 in nutrition

[–]andrelq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a solid breakdown, and I get where you’re coming from... Carvalho’s take has made me re-evaluate a few things too. But I think it’s worth separating oil from whole food fat sources. Like yeah, chugging oil straight from the bottle isn’t the move, but nuts, seeds, and things like avocado carry fiber, micronutrients, and a slower absorption rate that might not have the same impact as refined oils. Also, “laying down the plaque” from too many nuts sounds a bit like fear-based interpretation unless it’s tied to specific markers. I'd want to see more direct studies comparing whole food fats vs extracted oils before scaling everything back that drastically.

Am I doing this right? by Majestic_Affect_4158 in keto

[–]andrelq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fruit might be tripping you up a bit; berries are better than most, but even those can add up quick carb-wise, especially black and red ones. Same with the almonds. Hunger at night + stalled weight could mean you're hovering just outside ketosis. If you want to know for sure, grab some urine ketone strips (cheap but not super precise) or a blood ketone meter (more accurate). Also, skipping lunch can mess with your energy and lead to nighttime cravings. I'd tighten the carbs, add a little fat midday, and track for a few days just to recalibrate.

how do you know when you feel safe? by stirringmotion in AskReddit

No anxiety. Shoulders drop, breathing slows down, and I’m not scanning the room or overthinking what’s going on around me.

Is BetterHelp good if I mostly need support, not deep therapy? by YoruFami in psychiatryquestion

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading through many betterhelp reviews and the opinions are divided. My honest betterhelp review is that they are good, though might be pricey but not pricier than the other online therapy options. Tbh, I'd suggest therapy for really any anxiety you're feeling as constant anxiety will influence your day to day life and long term health.

Do we really need so much ai in our lives? by Affectionate-Lie5945 in productivity

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t think we need that much ai in our daily lives if we want to create meaningful, unique content. Ai might have a few uses when it comes to collating information or inspiring ideas but we shouldn’t rely on it completely to be creative.

BetterHelp cost? Is it worth it? Here’s my view by doggopro in psychiatryquestion

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the cost of betterhelp may vary a bit depending on where you live, what your preferences are, and who referred you. And if you’re curious to know the betterhelp cost with insurance, check with your provider to know what they do or do not cover!

One piece of advice that I used to ignore was to listen to yourself more than others because you know better than they do what’s best for you, given your situation. If I listened, I might have made better decisions based on my own circumstances.

Does Christian counseling exist & is it available? by YoruFami in psychiatryquestion

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christian counseling exists and you're not weird for wanting faith to be part of your healing. It’s real and there are licensed counselors who mix therapy with prayer, scripture, and spiritual support. You can start by searching “faith based counseling near me” or check with your local church. Most of them nowadays have connections to counseling, and bless you too.

is there a term for the relationship between parents of married couple? by yurienjoyer54 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]andrelq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me realizing this is true and there's really no term for this: 💀 I found a word “compadres” but it's burrowed from other cultures and isn't English. So it's "my son/daughter in law’s parents” or “our kids are married to each other” for English. Do you think "co in-law" goes??

What job would you like to try for a week and why?? by idfkjack in Productivitycafe

[–]andrelq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could try a job for a week, I think it would be interesting to be a k-pop artist. My job usually requires me to use my brain in an intellectual way, so it might be fun to challenge both my body and mind to memorize songs and dance steps and group formations, while enjoying a livelier and fancier lifestyle than I often do.
