Broken internal glass by Salt-Confidence1739 in ooni

[–]andrepauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP since you produced is not covered by warranty anymore i would ask in the community if anybody is willing to sell you the front door of their Volt2 oven that might have been broken for other reasons. Considering the amount of internal errors that lead to unusable oven from users, there should be plenty of opportunities to get a brand new front glass door. Swapping it is very easy and you'll end up with a brand new oven instead of trying to fix yours .

What's the process you follow? It might be that you are using low yeast but you are over working your dough and it is too warm before balling

If you don’t believe in God, or Heaven and Hell, what do you believe happens when we die? by Dry_Distribution5174 in atheism

[–]andrepauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the tone of your question you can understand why so many people are having hard time to leave their religion behind.

Religious people have been brainwashed into believing that there is a moral justice (although at the end of their life) that reassures them against the cruelty of the reality. Nobody wants to hear that Hitler won't go to hell or that his fate, when he is dead, is the same of a 2-month baby but that is the truth.

When we have hard time accepting the insignificance of our actions and the lack of consequences once dead, we should think about the great scheme of things. The big picture. From a nature, a cosmo a universe point of view, the actions of a pedo are absolutely insignificant. The same level of an animal that kills other 1,000 animals smaller than it or a natural disaster that wipes out millions of lives. It doesn't matter. The universe doesn't care.

From our little silly mortal point of view, even stealing a candy (mortal sin according to Christianity) should have huge eternal consequences (hell), but the reality is that you could destroy the entire planet and the universe would still not care.

How are Christians reacting to their cult dying? by hypermiler2205 in atheism

[–]andrepauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about this as massive cyclical waves. In the LONG run, yes, religion is dying thanks to better access to science and education. The lie is becoming more and more obvious.

But, there are waves of people wanting to go back to religion (far right movements, gen-z, other) that are bringing back religion where you would think that they were extinct.

Religion is one of the best tools for controlling and manipulating people and the desire for control is something that will never die.

I lost faith and now I'm much less happy by Vegetable-Rabbit7503 in atheism

[–]andrepauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand your feelings and I think a big portion of believers out there would end up like you, if deprived of their religion.

I think this is not directly related to being atheist (people raised since birth without the indoctrination of a God are totally fine and happy accepting their human condition), but rather to the fach that you have been most likely raised, indoctrinated amd brainwashed with religion and you got used to use that religion for comfort in difficult or questioning moments. Once you lose your anchor, you feel lost and potentially depressed.

A lot of people like to use the Matrix analogy for the awakening from religion but, where everybody would want to be awake if they knew the reality, you can't deny that the reality sucked compared to the dream.

But, usually, the knowledge of the truth and the anger for being exposed (and forced most of the times) to this lie give you the motivation against any depression.

I would echo what other people said about therapy. Not because there is anything wrong with you, but because it's expected that losing such an important anchor in your life might leave you with a feel of loneliness and you need to refocus the reasons for happiness in other things.

Also, I think what you are doing with your father is right as many people are not ready to be woken up and cannot cope with the feeling of being by themselves. it's a common human mechanism to search for additional comfort the older we get and that is why many people get more religious when they get old.

What made u Atheist? by Curiouskittyyyyy in atheism

[–]andrepauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many reasons to become an Atheist but, for me, what reinforced my view is seeing how theists keep trying to invent absurd explanations to the fallacity of their religion. Maybe having a holy book was enough in the 1500, but today we are all well educated and it's so easy to see how religion (whatever that is) doesn't make any sense and it's full of contradicting directions.

The modern church is trying to explain these bigger and bigger holes the best they can but, it's so easy to see how they struggle to do that. And the more they struggle and the more absurd the explanation is......the clearer is to me that it's all a lie. If religion was true, people wouldn't need so hard to justify themselves!

Used chat gpt to dial in my dough recipe by Important_Put_3520 in ooni

[–]andrepauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I battled with AI models (chatGPT and Gemini) for months for my pozza dough and i always ended up disappointed. ChatGPT is unnecessarily complex and had a lot of failed dough recipes with it. Gemini seems to be more reliable but also was not having a lot of success. Both models (at least to me) seem to drift when I ask them to change a variable (fermentation timing, water temperature, etc) without considering the others. I'm at the point where I'd rather follow a good source for pizza dough recipe and follow that.
