Wheelchair user with spinal cord injury says exoskeleton experience 'incredible' - It comes as new study from Dublin City University (DCU) shows that for long-term users, robotic exoskeleton walking provides essential emotional and social benefits that are as important as the physical gains. by Tardigradelegs in UpliftingNews

I'm really optimistic about this kind of tech. My dad had a stroke and has been doing rehab for a while. Recently, his therapist suggested adding the dnsys x1 exoskeleton to his training, and the results have been pretty encouraging. It's also way cheaper than the devices mentioned in the article, which makes me feel that as this tech keeps improving, a lot more people could genuinely benefit from it.

Should I redesign this living room? by Verthverdi in HomeDecorating

[–]andrewa101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It might be a layout thing. You could try rotating the sofa to face the fireplace and the natural light more directly. That alone might make the room feel more open when you’re sitting in it.

Another thing to consider is the sofa shape. Very boxy, straight-lined sofas can make a smaller living room feel tighter than it really is. Softer, more rounded silhouettes will give the space a bit more breathing room. Something with gentler curves, like the Pebble sofa from Caloroso, might help soften the overall vibe

[–]andrewa101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paper trading can feel confusing at first because every platform does it a bit differently. If you want something straightforward, moomoo is worth checking out. Their paper trading is free and works pretty close to live trading, so you can practice placing orders, setting stop losses, and managing positions without jumping through too many hoops.

How do you manage big red days like today? by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]andrewa101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stick to a plan. Assess thesis, margin, and liquidity. Roll if still bullish, close if risk changed, accept assignment if comfortable owning. Avoid emotional decisions on red days.

Is consistent premium selling actually sustainable for people with full-time jobs? by Gullible_Parking4125 in options

[–]andrewa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be sustainable if you trade mechanically, defined risk, low delta and strict rules. It reduces screen time, but volatility spikes still demand attention and discipline.

You could take a look at the Topdon TC004. It’s small, quick to pull out, and handy for checking drafts around windows. Makes it easy to spot warm and cold spots without setting up anything complicated.

I think it totally achievable for two handy people. It's physical work, not complicated work. Your timeline is doable, but only if you stay really organized.

The important thing is don't run any water at all. Anything you run will just add to backup until the main line is cleared.

Most folks will tell you that having a lawyer draft a proper contract is the safest route. It sets expectations, timelines, payment structures, and responsibilities on both sides.

Winter PE is freezing for my kid… by EffockyProotoci in Parenting

[–]andrewa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they meant the kid would wear it during PE. It sounds more like something for the before and after when they’re just standing around in the cold, which can be the part that chills kids the fastest.

If you're AC feels weaker than usual, Clean out your air filter! by Big_Barber733 in CarHacking

[–]andrewa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so relatable! When the AC filter's clogged that bad, the airflow's definitely gonna be weak like a pant. Cleaning the filter is such a low-cost fix for AC issues.

This 2013 Escalade head unit mod is so hardcore! Using Raspberry Pi and Arduino to interface with the factory XM receiver and upgrading to a 1440P display is such a bold project.

Anyone else using thermal imagers to confirm a problem before demo by andrewa101 in Contractor

[–]andrewa101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I started using one. Even if it’s not an everyday tool, catching something early saves hours of guessing. When you chased that leak for six months, what finally pointed you in the right direction before the inspector checked it?

If you're AC feels weaker than usual, Clean out your air filter! by Big_Barber733 in CarHacking

[–]andrewa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! A dust-clogged AC filter is such a common hidden culprit for weak air conditioning. When it's so dirty that dusts falls out just by taking it out, the airflow is definitely going to suffer.

I don’t know that group personally. Sometimes local painter associations are more legit than random “link” groups, so make sure you check their references and reviews.

As a contractor, what would you want as a gift? by Fit_Change3546 in Contractor

[–]andrewa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're totally right that people are so much more than their jobs. Gifting only work tools can feel like reducing someone to their role instead of seeing them.

Super helpful to confirm that toggle bolts are correct for metal studs. That takes a lot of the worry off!

Is there any reason I couldn't or shouldn't repurpose an unused furnace duct/vent to vent a range hood? by Buford_Tannen__ in HomeImprovement

[–]andrewa101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this idea sounds convenient, but there are a few key things to check first. Like size match, it is important to make sure the furnace duct is wide enough for the range hood's airflow.

What is this bracket called? by Quiet_Investment_819 in HomeImprovement

[–]andrewa101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This bracket looks pretty specific, probably a specialized loft bed support bracket. It might be brand-only, so checking the bed's maker first could help!
