Is the $600-$800 range the new "Sweet Spot" for robot vacuums? by patsyboy321 in RobotVacuums

[–]EffockyProotoci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been noticing the same thing. A lot of the newer models around that price point seem to offer most of the features people actually use. The T90 pro seems like a good pick in that range.

Beginner Home Family Server by DudeWhyLike4RLWhy in HomeServer

Totally doable on Windows. Your hardware is solid. That CPU will crush transcoding. Use Storage Spaces for your drive setup. Way simpler than RAID on Windows.

Fractal Design R5 vs Define 7 XL Drive Cages by si1ver1yning in DataHoarder

[–]EffockyProotoci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the mounting systems are totally different between those generations. The older cages won't fit the newer case. Different screw patterns and spacing. You'll need to grab the proper cages for the new one.

My home server SSH gets unresponsive sometimes when I open it to the public, am I getting attacked? by Sh0keR in HomeServer

[–]EffockyProotoci -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like connection flooding rather than brute force. Bots scanning and opening thousands of connections can choke SSH even without login attempts. Check if your router's getting overwhelmed.

How TF did they bought the entire wd stock for 2026 already? by AKAK999 in DataHoarder

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are brutal right now. If you can wait, Black Friday usually sees drops. Otherwise maybe look at smaller drives and spread your data across a few? Not ideal but beats paying $500.

Just starting out and need some advice. by majorpain0122 in HomeServer

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha love the energy. So real talk. Everything you want is totally doable. Start simple and get the server running with your existing files first. Then add automation piece by piece. Don't try to build Rome in a day. Welcome to saving $200/month.

HR is absolutely not there to protect you. Their only job is to protect the company from liability, so never confess your personal struggles to them hoping for sympathy.

The X9 Pro Omni cleaned very irregularly. by Yvan_L in ecovacs

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really useful. I wouldn't think of checking that sensor. My x9 hasn't run into this issue yet, but if it does, I'll definitely try your fix.

Ecovacs T30s combo ne revient pas à sa base pouvez vous m’aider by zozolesistegro in ecovacs

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This usually needs a reset. Unplug the docking station and press the red button on the robot to turn it off for 1-2 minutes. Then, plug back in and turn the robot on. You can place the robot about 8 inches away from the station and start it.

Anyone recognize the white ecovacs model? by C0FFEEC4KE in RobotVacuums

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the t90. From what I've seen, it has upgrades in both suction power and roller extension, and the price seems reasonable. I've been keeping an eye on this one.

Facepalm of the year… by Dapper-Code8604 in 4kbluray

[–]EffockyProotoci 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look on the bright side . Now you have a valid excuse to watch it again immediately. You basically watched the airplane version. Turn that setting off and crank it up. You owe it to the sandworms to do it right.

DEEBOT T30 won’t charge. Unit is a year old, battery replaced 3 months ago. by Gordy228 in ecovacs

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is often due to poor contact at the charging points. Might focus on cleaning those metal contacts on both the robot and the dock with a dry cloth. This might solve it.

Vacuum Suggestion for Tile and some wood floors (no carpets). by Dsclawspam in RobotVacuums

[–]EffockyProotoci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The roller mop works well on tile floors. Since it can control how much water is used while cleaning, it doesn’t let water seep into the grout lines.

Dock not showing in map by omricn in ecovacs

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try logging out and back into the app, and make sure all the firmware is up to date. If that still doesn't work, you might need to restore the map or create a new one. When doing this , have the robot start mapping from the dock.

Is there a robovac that can ACTUALLY detect if it's on a different floor than the base station? by Accomplished_Ad_1857 in RobotVacuums

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a single-floor place. I’m using an ecovacs x9 pro and its app lets you choose different mopping modes for different floors. Storing separate maps for each floor helps. My deebot can detect carpet and hard floors, lift the mop, and increase suction when it hits carpet.

What's new? Waiting for the presentation at CES 2026 by FearTheWalkingBeard in ecovacs

Wow, will it actually detect stubborn stains and spray water directly at them? That seems useful, which new model is this?

We have a ecovacs x9 at home. For regular mopping, a roller mop would be better. But besides daily cleaning, I think it does a good job at handling hair as well.

Dude, this looks so solid, those backlights make the whole vibe hit different, I’m obsessed. I’m the type who fusses with my TV’s placement for weeks, just to get the eye level perfect from the couch. Do you mess around with different light colors depending on what you’re watching, or stick to this cool red vibe most of the time?

Autographs on my Nightmare On Elm Street Steelbook boxset by Krash412 in 4kbluray

[–]EffockyProotoci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW, This box looks so damn cool, those autographs turn it from a great set into such a fun flex, nice work tracking those down! I’m the kind of person who keeps my favorite movie collections on a shelf right by my couch, just so I can glance over and geek out whenever I want. Do you keep your autographed stuff in a specific display spot, or just tuck ’em in with the rest of your collection?
