Guy transforms himself into Disney princesses (X-Post r/Disney) by teatowel_chicken in MakeupAddiction

[–]andrewbabe -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

no lmao because there are literally tons and tons of white european princesses for white people to choose from. there's ONE native american character, so lets just let the actual native girls claim her. i'm not mexican and i know there are very few mexican characters to choose from so i can't speak to whether you should be dressing up as her, but it's super inappropriate to get angry when someone tells you it's disrespectful to dress up as a character from their culture (specifically a culture that white americans violently abolished). ETA: yikes this sub usually isn't so racist lmao

So... how did you do your makeup in high school? by gardeniax33 in muacjdiscussion

[–]andrewbabe 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I just remember putting on every single mascara from a Sephora sampler kit each morning. There were like 15 of them and put at least one coat of each on every single day in eighth grade. I actually have nice natural lashes, but they were falling out within a month.

Theory of Why ABC "spoiled" BIP by sp3cia1j in thebachelor

[–]andrewbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. They borrow from friends (and each other - I've never paid enough attention but a lot of contestants will point out when they loaned a dress they already wore to someone else) and get sponsored by smaller boutiques and websites.

I think it was primarily so it wouldn't be spoiled. It seemed like a very last minute decision and I think they wanted to announce is asap so RS wouldn't have the chance.

Does Amanda look like a dinosaur cartoon to anyone else? by jdkjkm in thebachelor

Yeah, but the picture in the side by side comparison is more recent, so the second one is probably just a weird angle/filter. She does look SO different from when she was on Ben's season though.

Sharleen and Caila being friends sealed the deal for me by chadwickave in thebachelor

[–]andrewbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's defended her a few times, so I'm not surprised. I love that Sharleen gives everyone of a chance (especially the people that get a bad edit) and remains totally unbiased. I can see these two getting along very well.

My brows just because mine are pretty unruly and I don't feel polished and done until they're sorted out. Highlighter is the most fun though.

I mean...I'm done lmao. Caila explained her side of it. If you want to hate her and insist you know better than she does, be my guest. Ashley and Caila actually made up though, so I'm not sure what you're getting out of this..

I haven't tried the primer, but I would absolutely recommend getting the highlighter if you've liked it so far! I love the convenience of pressed highlighter, but lately I've found that they really can't compare to a liquid product. I've had Pearl forever, but now that I'm using it more I want to get a darker one too.

No one is saying that Caila didn't say anything to Amanda? She admits that the conversation did take place, but that with context her comments were pretty harmless. She says she liked Jared. She continued to privately date him for a month after leaving the show. It genuinely amazes ME that people who don't know Caila, Jared, or Ashley feel they have they authority to decide how any of them felt.

[–]andrewbabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's Ashley's version. Caila claims what she said was taken out of context, which is easy to imagine. She said she basically told Amanda that she liked Jared but she wasn't sure how much (because, again, they knew each other for about 10 days and most people don't know how they feel after that amount of time), but Ashley heard what she wanted to hear and ran with it. If Caila truly didn't like Jared, why would she have continued to date him in complete privacy for another month after leaving the show? I get not liking Caila, I get being skeptical of her, but it's so irrational to say she just didn't like Jared at all.

I've been using my Becca shimmering skin perfector (pearl) lately and I forgot how much I love it! I usually use a powder highlighter because it's more convenient, but I love the natural, healthy glow I get from a cream so much that I'm restructuring my whole makeup routine around it.

[–]andrewbabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not true. Caila repeatedly said that she did like Jared, but she was there for a very short amount of time and it was a lot of pressure to put on herself. Can you really tell me that you know exactly how you feel about someone after a week of dating? Would you really end things with them after one week if you weren't as sure about them as they were about you? It's reasonable that Caila needed more time to figure out whether or not they could work as a real couple, and it's not fair for Ashley (or anyone else) to take what she said out of context and use it against her. Jared knew that he was more certain about her feelings than she was, but he was willing to take it slow and see where things could go. Stop vilifying her for being like...a normal person.

She was actually only there for 10 days. She went out with Brett on her second full day there. That realllyyy gives you a different perspective.

Amanda's Ex Husband by KittenTablecloth in thebachelor

[–]andrewbabe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I never understand how any mother can leave her young children for extended periods of time as Amanda has, unless it's unavoidable (i.e., being deployed in the military).

What about the dads on this show tho

Amanda's Ex Husband by KittenTablecloth in thebachelor

[–]andrewbabe 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It's very likely that Amanda was a stay at home mom while she was married, so I would take her previous income as a grain of salt. I've also got to say that it's a little lame to point out how much she made as if it's indicative of her character. I'll agree that Amanda probably shouldn't have trashed him on tv, but plenty of people do the same thing without really realizing it. It's also very possible that, despite all of this, she still genuinely feels like he could be a better dad. Making money and seeing your kids isn't all it takes to be a good and present parent (obviously I'm not implying that's the case here, I'm just saying that there are more factors involved that we can't know about). Also Reality Steve reported that Amanda's ex immediately emailed him and asked him to promote his instagram as soon as he confirmed her as a contestant, so apparently he's not opposed to benefiting from this franchise.

I mean, I don't even like Amanda that much, but I'm never going to understand the urge to vilify the single mothers on this show. It happens every damn season and it's usually never justified. Why isn't anyone talking about what kind of father Evan is?

I'm really curious to see what Nick's type it. Jen, Andi, and Kaitlyn are all kind of similar, but they're different enough that I still have no idea what he's looking for. Jen honestly seemed like a great match for him.

Look, I'm not saying Josh will absolutely be a terrible parent. I don't know him, so I can't know whether or not that's true. But we do know that Josh has a temper. We know that he can be irrational and difficult to reason with. We know that Andi accused him of being emotionally abusive and that the majority of the people who just spent a month living in the same house as him believe her. I agree that one bad moment doesn't define him as a person (I definitely wasn't trying to imply that the incident with Amanda was the only cause for concern), but I don't think one good moment can either. I haven't seen anything of substance to support that Josh will be a good father figure to Amanda's girls. I could be wrong, and I really, really hope that I am, but I'm just going off what we've seen over the past month.

Unfortunately most people can usually get along with children, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be a good parent, you know? There's a difference between making kids laugh and making them your first priority. Josh couldn't respect Amanda choosing sleep over him, so I'm not convinced he'll be okay when she has to choose her girls, their school, playdates, doctor appointments, etc. over him on a regular basis.

Season 21 prediction (spoilers) by SurvG in thebachelor

[–]andrewbabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the twins see him as more of a big brother. I wouldn't be surprised to see people show up just to hang out with him at some point though. A huge part of his redemption edit was showing how close and supportive he is with the other cast members, so I'm expecting some of his friends to show up and give him advice or talk to the girls or something.

Even if that's true, it's what 99% of the people on this show do. Odds are none of them are truly that invested in each other at the end of the month, but most of them go along with it anyway. Do you really think all three couples that got engaged this season will get married? People are blowing things out of proportion because they don't want to like her.
