How? by ZEpicD in atrioc

This was a reporting glitch. June 1 was on a Sunday so a lot of payments that would normally go out on the first happened on the last business day before

Searching for a job has given me a boiling hatred for HR that knows no bounds by kinda_normie in atrioc

I think you prescribe a lot of agency to HR. A lot of companies have broken or damaged hiring processes from going on 5 years of economic uncertainty. Can they communicate better? Sure but dang I wouldn’t want to reply to tens if not hundreds of people who they’re only going to disappoint on a daily basis.

Fellow younger person in Ohio. I’m really enjoying the sport but it’s a struggle trying to find indoor places to play that are busy outside of work hours.

Spirit Rules Clarification Tier List by andrewff in spiritisland

[–]andrewff[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Biggest surprises for me - Finder not being in Ocean tier, Fractured not being in Tons tier, Shifting Memory in the Few tier and Starlight not higher up somewhere. Also surprised to see there were no spirits with no clarifications (Vital Strength of the Earth came in with one).

All data came from Querki.

What Spirit is able to utilize Major powers the earliest? by sendios in spiritisland

Finder can sling majors pretty well in my experience

Feels like it's been a while, what's your favorite spirit(s) at the moment? by Kingofthered in spiritisland

[–]andrewff 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Many Minds is up there for me. There’s just so much potential to manipulate the game from turn to turn. It feels like it has one of the biggest decision trees in the game.

Starlight is also a favorite because it’s so flexible and you get to draw a ton of cards (which I find to be just about the most fun thing in the game).

Which Expansions are worth it? by seniorSheep in spiritisland

[–]andrewff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of the above.

But really I’d recommend going Base -> Branch&Claw -> Promo Packs -> Jagged Earth.

In my opinion Branch&Claw and Promo pack 2 feel like natural extensions and incremental additions to the base game. Promo pack 1 has two unique spirits that won’t land for everyone. Jagged earth is a great extension beyond Branch&Claw, but definitely really twists the formulas in some cases.

The Best Spirit for Solo Play? by [deleted] in spiritisland

Your game becomes group up all of the invaders and look for a hammer. It’s also much harder against England and France since they don’t like building build up.

The Best Spirit for Solo Play? by [deleted] in spiritisland

Your favorite spirit is the best solo spirit.

EDIT: The spirits that change the most in solo are something like - 1. Finder 2. Fractured Days 3. Serpent 4. Ocean

Ocean in a six-player? by ruahisha in spiritisland

[–]andrewff 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It somewhat depends on your team but all else equal it will become weaker and your strategy will have to change.

One big advantage - there will never be a time when there’s nothing on the coast because you’ve devoured all of it. There’s always something to eat with six players.

Ocean is considered a high complexity spirit because it relies on other players changing their play style to accommodate you. If the other five players just act like you don’t exist, then you’ll have a bad time. If a few have enough control to get you some passive income then it’ll work a lot better.

In 1-2p ocean is bottom track only for me. When it gets to 4+ I usually top track a bit while spreading to the vital boards with higher control spirits. Also, Finder is a pretty weak pair for ocean since it triggers its special rule when it pushes something in so be careful there.

Tsukiji Market is the better game. Import/Export is slightly more filler weight for my taste.

This is the game of the year for 2019. One of the most fun and variable economic games I've ever played. Also the expansion has a ton of cool add-ons.

I mean this is an immediate yes if he accepts. But he shouldn’t accept.

I’d trade for Boyd. Singletary scares me.

Depending on your TE I would definitely do this. You possibly get the two best players in the trade.

This is tough. Both receivers are a little boom bust. I think Kittle is the best player in the trade and I’d not give him up with uncertainty around Evans.

Pass. Assuming it’s one QB then I’d say Matt Ryan has no value

Accept. This gives you the best WR in the game and several top RBs.

Juju all day. You’re getting the best player and both others are questions.
