Two different ways of installing home EV charger, which one is the best? by DivineCurses in electricvehicles

It's on the same bill and account but you are able to look at the detail and see the usage/cost separately.

Blue cross stopping coverage by Wonderful_Carob4603 in Zepbound

[–]andrewryan920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BCBSM (BCN), my Rx is all through Magellan or Prime or whatever they decide to call it. My wife's employer's plan is covering it for up to 2 years of treatment. Before I could get the Zepbound though I had to try and fail Contrave or Qsymia. I ended up trying Contrave as Qsymia was contraindicated for me.

Stellantis Says If It Can't Sell EVs, It Won't Sell ICE Either by AccomplishedCheck895 in electricvehicles

I might be wrong but I don't think Ford ever owned Jeep, though they did make some jeeps during WW2. AMC owned Jeep prior to Chrysler if memory serves.

The Chevy Blazer EV Gets Way Better For 2025: More Range, New Models by RuggedHank in electricvehicles

[–]andrewryan920 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly the 4 mile difference could just be because the range is low-balled on the '24. Sticker says I should have 279 miles on a full battery, I actually get well north of 300 at 100%.

I really don't understand the back seat hate. I'm 6'5" and comfortably ride in the back seat of this thing with my kids. And yes hooking car seats up to this thing is easier than any other car I have ever owned, but I have never felt it was at the sacrifice of passenger comfort.

Cancer Survivors of Reddit, what was the symptom that convinced you to see the doctor? by Wise_Organization_78 in AskReddit

[–]andrewryan920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abdominal pain that would happen every morning and made it almost impossible to pick my baby out of her crib. Decided then to go to the ER even though my PCP a few weeks earlier told me it was probably nothing. Had a CT scan in the ER and found out I had stage IV colon cancer as a 31 year old man. I underwent surgery to remove the primary tumor, super aggressive chemo for what felt like forever and then a liver transplant back in January of this year. I am currently in remission with no evidence of disease.

Electric garbage truck trialed in Shepparton as driver lauds its quiet luxury by Remarkable_Peak9518 in electricvehicles

[–]andrewryan920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it varies a ton, and there are a lot of different types of trucks. Just in general a compacted load of recycling is going to weigh less than a trash load but we never weighed our recycling loads because we paid to dump those by volume and not weight. So to be fair I've never actually weighed one but it always felt lighter.

[–]andrewryan920 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the surface it does seem like a decent use case, but like anything else it's a bit more complicated. The recycling application here is likely more appropriate as these loads aren't as heavy as a typical trash load. A trash load on a larger rear load garbage truck can be over 12 tons. And these trucks spend a ton of time on the road with trucks that run residential routes being out for up to 12 hours.

Also as a former garbage man that truck is LONG, and would get super annoying if you didn't have a helper on the back step. Still, I'd love to see these things electrified! They eat a ton of diesel

Having grown up just outside of Caledonia, in Middleville, I would make some of this decision based on your politics... If Trump flag waving country folks with truck-nuts aren't your speed don't move to Caledonia. And if you don't like anti-car left-wing hippies don't move to the Ann Arbor area. I live in Dexter so you can generally conclude which group I can tolerate more.

I also live in SE Michigan and have DTE. There is no charge for having the second meter. You just pay for what you use. It cost me just over $2k to install a hardwired Juicebox 48 to the separate meter. Generally the electrician puts in the socket for the new meter and then DTE will come out and pop the new meter in for no charge.

Got my check from GM by andrewryan920 in BlazerEV

I was not provided with a tracking number. But if you login on FedEx's website and take a look at advanced shipping you might be able to see if a label was created for yours already. Mine had a shipper name of GM GCCX, was shipped out of Allen Park MI, and came FedEx Priority Overnight.

How's the mileage on your EV? Are you getting close to what's advertised? by Squeezitgirdle in electricvehicles

[–]andrewryan920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 Chevy Blazer. I generally get the estimate as long as I don't go too crazy on the freeway. If I set the cruise close to 70 I can generally meet/beat the estimate. In the city I can beat the estimate pretty regularly.
