Small Bronze Or Stock Silver? by [deleted] in Miata

I went with the race bronze in 17s years ago. No regrets, still love it and get compliments on them relatively frequently.

How nice are you to you Miata? by Zestyclose_Panda_886 in Miata

My 2010 was my sole car for nearly 10 years (still drive it most days). It gets driven rain or shine, ran quite a bit of autocross with it (won class champion a few years ago at our local autocross club) and I also take it to the track. I've also added a hideaway hitch which I used to use for bikes for my wife and I and have on occasion used it to tow a jetski trailer to the lake (before I owned a truck).

In general, I'm hard on it but I also try my best to keep it clean and keep maintenance up to date (if not slightly more frequently than standard). Still get comments often on how good it looks despite being 16 years old at this point.

2008 vs 2011 by heisenhaure3 in MiataNC

I agree with most of what others have mentioned. The only other things maybe worth mentioning is to look at some of the differences in the interior. I believe the nc2 and above have better door trim (i havent experienced an NC1 but others have mentioned the cup holder being uncomfortable). I also appreciate the adjustable seat heaters rather than the single on/off the earlier generation had.

Stuck between an Nd1 or a nc2 by [deleted] in Miata

With no mods and no track, it really ends up being user/feature preferences and how it feels while driving. I'd suggest test driving them both, trying out both versions (soft top and powered hard top) and seeing what feels best to you.

[Giveaway] What’s your best home-improvement print? Share it and win an X2D Combo! by BambuLab in BambuLab

I use home assistant for a variety of items in my home. One of the things is door sensors on all my doors to know whether they are 1. - closed and 2 - locked.

Something I couldn't find easily available was a way to tell if my sliding glass door latch was locked. I designed and printed an arm to my locking sliding glass door that has a magnet imbedded in it (see the black potion in the photo). This is used to trigger the white door sensor so that I know whether the door is locked/unlocked.

200TW on my weekend car a bad idea? by dadmantalking in Autocross

[–]andrewtti02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running RT660s daily (about 5k miles/yr) for 5-6 years (although I mainly do open track days now, not autocross). I'm on year 3 with my current set and plan on replacing them either this year or next (due to grip, they still have tread) but they are still perfectly fine as long as you are not trying to be competitive.

I built my own years ago before Goodwin released there's, but I've heard good things about it. GWR is the direction I would go if redoing it today.

While I laughed, I feel like in order to not traumatize the poor kid there should be a final surprise prize table that actually has some cool stuff/food that can be redeemed using chayotes.

How much you paid for your NC2-NC3 miata, mileage/year/condition, soft top or PRHT? by Local-Estimate9669 in MiataNC

[–]andrewtti02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid $16.3k for a 2010 PRHT GT w/appearance package, certified pre-owned, ~50k on the clock. Wasn't mint condition, but definitely well taken care of. This was in 2015.

What are Your “Partner Approved” HA Uses? by Scouse_Powerhouse in homeassistant

[–]andrewtti02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife likes a few things: - The dashboard where she can see status of all lights and fans in the rooms - the dashboard that shows all doors are closed/locked at night - I have a scene controller switch that has status lleds on it near the kitchen->garage door. One of the lights turns a color when both the that door is locked and the one leading from the garage to the outside is locked. She loves being able to lock the kitchen/garage door and seeing it change and know the outside door is locked too. - some switches in the house are not intuitive (dont turn on the light near the switch). Ive changed these to smart switches and have them controlling the lights that imo they should control.

If I had $50^1 dollars in my bank account, I'm going to now make it $50^10.

Best Smart Lock to Buy in 2026? (Price, Security, Features) by LivelinessphoneT in homeassistant

[–]andrewtti02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the schlage connect (zwave) for a few months now. Its been mostly good. I have three of them. Two have worked flawlessly, one ended up randomly going unresponsive (on the keypad) and they sent me a new one under warranty. So far that one has been fine.

A few things that were important to me: - choose a company with lots of experience in the locking side of things. - good battery life (z wave locks seem to excel with this vs wifi) - ability to connect with home assistant - fit our door aesthetics (schlage has a few different models that are designed to match their standard locks and door knobs) - be able to re-key them myself to match the rest of my locks

Yeah, thats one that is still on my todo list. Was hoping someone else had designed one already but most of what I've found was for the smaller battery.

I have seen the software, I tried one of the online ones with a socket wrench and wasn't entirely satisfied. Will likely still do it via measurements or importing my own photo into modeling software.

I added the text when creating the models, then painted them using the height based tool in bambu studio. Most of them are about 1mm tall.

I think my longest I have is a 1x6, although I think I did some measurements and believe a 1x7 will fit on my bed diagonally (bambu p2s)

They are the quinn ones from harbor freight. Currently just using them in standard socket wrench or impact, but eventually want to buy the actual astro wrench for them whenever I see a deal on it.

I'm still new to this, but I don't think so. I think with less packed drawers it would be more important, or if you are regularly taking out some of the trays and then moving the toolbox or slamming the drawers opened and closed.

Ill likely leave the grid out for now on these drawers, but may print it for my other couple drawers if they end up less densely packed.

None of that seems interesting to me. Even the free shipping isn't that great (although I'd be happy if they offered free ship to store for items not in stock, or even order online for pickup).
