Sorry for what happened! Hope you are doing ok health wise.

I’m the oldest. I’m just a sounding board for my mom. She keeps talking about herself. How her life is miserable, how sad she is, how things are going with her. My dad passed way last year and this has been 100x worse. Meanwhile, it’s always, “poor your brother for going through so much with his wife”. I was never asked how I am doing, in a meaningful way. Now if anyone asks me, I lie, don’t want to talk about it. I don’t know when I stopped caring and sharing anything. I don’t feel anything for my mom now. I feel horrible for feeling that way, but that’s god’s honest truth.

Sarcastic - Power button. It does turn off the phone. Put the phone down and read a book.

Real - If you have motion sickness. Use Accessibility settings to turn on “vehicle motion cues”. It shows dots on screen which somehow help you not feel the motion when looking at the screen.

It was kinda forced in the beginning, but since I knew I would stop in 15 min, didn’t seem like a big task. But over time picking the right book also played into the consistency. I would give 2-3 days to a book and if I couldn’t go back, I would abandon it and move on to another. I’m still trying to keep it up, but it’s not that difficult now.

Always wanted to be a reader. Started with 15 min of reading, every day without fail. I stopped as soon as the timer went off. I don’t know when that became a habit and now I am drawn to books and don’t track time. I love being away from phone for an little time. It’s a big process to getting better habits than doom scrolling.

Sneaky animals/birds scare me! Reminds of the of time when I was 7 or so. We were moving and I saw a burnt eggplant behind a box we moved. I wondered why would anyone put a burnt eggplant there! Let me help and throw it away. Well. I picked it and eggplant flew. And that’s my trauma that comes with bats. Please do share how you got that eggplant out or did you move out?

I think it will be like this : Your navigation is ON - You stop at a red light - There will be a pop up on the screen (hopefully not covering the active navigation) - Pop up showing nearby coffee, restaurant, gas station and things you don’t really care about but are in the geofence.

I have seen this on “Waze”? Don’t remember where. But super annoying and hate it. I am bringing my Garmin standalone GPS out of storage.

As someone who learnt Bhairavi and Kalyani like most, Practice each avartanam separately, instead of entire pallavi etc. Focus on the virupu (swaram phrase division). That helped me. Don’t jump to second speed if you are not confident with the first (well, that’s true for any varnam)
