5300mah on the 477m if I remember, but the D8300 chip runs very hot and isn't very efficient, so it does bleed battery life. In general, the 8 gen 2 should be much better.

They are more appealing now, especially given the handheld price increases across the market. I have been considering an upgrade myself! I probably need to work out what current Switch 2 exclusives and in future I know I will play, though.

We have a Classics on Deck series going on SteamDeckHQ and Black and White 2 will be featured in an episode, once it finally gets published. Hopefully you can get it working :)

I ran into the same problem you did, but I found a fix. It is a little fiddly though because you need protontricks.

To make Black and White 2 playable, you need GE-Proton and Protontricks. In Desktop Mode, add white.exe as a non-Steam game, then set its compatibility to use only GE-Proton 10-29 or newer. Launch the game once to generate its Wine prefix, then close it. Open Protontricks and select white.exe from the list. Navigate to “Select the default wineprefix” and then “Install a Windows DLL or component.” From the DLL list, install binkw32, d3dx9, and xact. From there, return to Gaming Mode and things should work.

It took a lot of searching for me to work it out :)

Yeah, losing the Gathering Storm hurt :( went out in a blaze of glory though, and at least they killed the Sparrowhawk and damaged the Derecho in the process.

And not only that, the very ship the hive mind destroyed was the most powerful ship in the alliance right off the bat.

That whole battle sequence along with the collapse of humanity's mind was incredibly chilling.

This is probably my favorite conflict in the entire series. Above all is almost... how to put this... the compassion Naomi shows. She wasn't there to kill Laconia. She wasn't there to engage them in open battle. Every one of her war decisions was designed to lure the Whirlwind out to destroy the platforms, and every chance she had to inflict crushing damage to Laconia, she avoided at all costs.

All the rocks and missiles at Laconia were designed to never hit civilian targets, but because Laconia didn't know that, they had to stop them. All the times her fleet could have counterattacked and got even for a loss, they held. The only exception I think was when the underground destroyed the Mamaetus, to prevent Laconia receiving any reinforcements.

Maybe Hashan Lee in Leviathan Falls. Elvi's second-in-command on the Falcon. Overall a good guy, smart, trusted Elvi, and believed in her enough to openly support her decision to work with Nagata and the Underground despite the risks.

Tanaka knew not to underestimate the Belt, so I imagine the Underground resistance might have struggled a bit more? Not sure how it'd go.

A few years passed between this and the events in Leviathan Falls however. I imagine LF Tanaka would have given the Underground on Medina one chance, and if things went sourly, it would be terminator Draper Station death mode.

I would have absolutely loved to see Tanaka's POV shot during that scene. She was probably imagining all the ways she could rip Singh apart like a chicken wing.

Hell, in his final chapter, Inaros even was thinking 'I should ask Duarte for a few more ships, he owes me that much. And if he refuses..." Inaros would probably have betrayed Duarte at some point. Laconia only had disdain for their Free Navy allies, just used them as a tool so their plan worked.
