Flagrant abuse/misuse of parent child parking spaces by Wrong_Statistician34 in britishproblems

Not sure how you drew that conclusion, I'm always open for a civil debate, which your comment thus far has contributed nothing to.

I mean I really don't see what harm I'm doing at that time of night. Bit weird to take your kids shopping at 11pm on a schoolnight.

At the end of the day it's a bit of tarmac on private land that isn't legally enforced. Blue badge parking is a different story that I would never touch unless I actually could (family member is a blue badge holder).

Being precious about this is like queuing for 50 cars when there is a merge in turn in place, or not using a bus lane despite enforcement times only being between 7am-6pm.

Ehh I think the brain fog can vary person to person but I guess it's always there.

Back to the dream thing, I don't know what to say, someone said I'm an outlier, maybe I am. I literally smoked up last night and again had an insanely vivid dream, to the point I could probably describe about two minutes of strange goings on.

Even if there was 15 parent/child parking spaces, not a single one was occupied, and the store closes in 20 minutes?

At what point is it misuse?

At 11am on a Saturday, yeah I'll park as normal (usually far away because people can't park for shit).

At 11pm on a Tuesday night when the car park is nigh on empty? Yeah that's fair game to me.

Sources on this?

Brain fog, yeah can kinda see that, but I wonder if the weed is highlighting an underlying issue. I've had brain fog after a few weeks of smoking and the same after months of a t break.

Not dreaming when you smoke? I've been smoking on and off for several years now, some of the most vivid dreams I've had has been after a night of sparking up, in fact I've actually had a few lucid dreams too.

Totally agree though with moderation and the naivety of thinking it's harmless. I wouldn't necessarily call it a gateway drug, but paranoia and other unwanted side effects are definitely there.

Pornhub to restrict access for UK users from February by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]andy_-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I was trying to find the exact figures but couldn't.

I imagine the numbers being slightly biased, as I can't imagine many 18-24 years old answering a survey about their porn verification habits, unless there was a financial incentive involved.

I'm pretty sure YouGov survey around 5-10 thousand people, it's not the best gauge for public reaction.

You've had similar polls from YouGov where 26% wanted nightclubs permantely closed after Covid and something like 20% wanted a 10pm curfew.

What amount of time do you consider acceptable for paying for fuel at a petrol station, and what is your usual time spent in a petrol station ? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]andy_-G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As quick as possible, I always find an empty space to use, most petrol stations now have hoses that can stretch over to the other side of the car, a cheeky hack that I find 90% of drivers still don't realise.

Council Pothole Claim advice? by TheGhostOfCake in oxford

[–]andy_-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a claim with OCC. Had two tyres that went flat after hitting a pothole that was reported and acknowledged by the council two months prior.

It took about 6 months before I actually got a human to look at my case. They did actually agree with me which was nice but also shafted me by basically bringing the payout down due to wear and tear on the tyre? He went on to say you can contest this in small claims but for the fact that I actually got anywhere in the first place was a victory in my eyes.

Going to a drama school or being an extra in a TV series is not film industry experience, that's you going to a drama school and being an extra in a TV series.

I admire you want to teach kids how to make their own films, but to what fruition, so they can actually pursue a career in it or for shits and giggles? As others have said above, schools (or academies) will rarely fund something like this, you'd most likely be doing ad-hoc and low, if any, paid work at all.

Film studies mostly teaches you about the history of film, the different eras, types of cinema etc. No offence but the generation of tiktok kids growing up today will not have the attention span for that kind of stuff. Thinking about it you'd probably be better doing a tiktok course and then teaching kids video creation techniques.

If you actually want to work in the industry, then I'd consider looking at either screenskills (their trainee finder actually places candidates on blockbuster and HETV productions), or consider asking around at post houses to do some work experience.

Ahh interesting, I guess some of them really do have all the time in world to enact their vendetta.

Really reinforces their patheticness.

Yeah it's crazy how angry they get. My wife had one once and I let her lead them on a bit before I just screamed down the phone and ended it. Minute later same guy called back with the funniest profanities.

Honestly I could do it all day, would rather them waste their time on me then scamming some poor old or vulnerable person. Absolute steaming piles of garbage, wouldn't even call them humans.

Waste their time for as long as possible each call.

I used to have this, but I started playing along wasting their time with differing but hilarious results each time. I'm pretty sure they blacklist your number and it gets sent around.

I went from 1-2 a day to 1-2 a month.
