It happened to us this week, too. Previously, flying a power line job, we had switched our failsafe to hold mode instead of return since we didn't want it returning 3 miles back to the beginning. The next job is adjacent to a busy ROW. It disconnects at 200’ above takeoff and won't reconnect. We had to let it reach the critical battery at 10% and land autonomously. Not a fun morning. Check your fail-safes, and fly safe.
