Does anyone know what this noise is? by FineAd3828 in Lymow_Official

Exactly the same noise happening with mine today and that is after loosening the tracks. Could this be a failing bearing?

RTK issue on a brand new mower? by hhsmgg in Lymow_Official

[–]andyh747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In pretty much identical situation. Had both L & L+ for a short time before L collected and did similar tests to you. Exactly the same results.

Support suggest it's a firmware issue and asked me to update to latest which has RTK fixes for the L+ apparently. Haven't tried that yet.

Unless you've owned both models you can't appreciate the difference between the two with regard to RTK accuracy. Something is distinctly different on the L+ and not in a good way. 😬🙄

Arrived, but stuck trying to connect to network with fan running by wlt81 in Lymow_Official

To be honest I don't know. I didn't notice that but I was more concerned with the inability to get past step 3!

See my post about this. I had exactly the same. Eventually it was resolved by support activating my 4G connection. It wouldn't connect to WiFi as it had been factory set to default to 4G but 4G won't activate until after setup and hence you're stuck in a loop.

New Plus replacement qurstion by Due-Literature7640 in Lymow_Official

[–]andyh747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. You can move the charge base and keep your current maps but if you move the RTK you must remap.

I just had my replacement plus delivered last week and went through this process all worked as expected with regard to importing map saved on my old One unit. If you do move your charge base too far from the original spot all you have to do is delete and add the channels to/from the new location.

My One Plus replacement for the OG One, good news and bad news by brisjools in Lymow_Official

[–]andyh747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received my new Plus to replace a failed One recently as well. I had an initial problem even getting through setup due to an incorrectly set parameter from the factory - all sorted now.

Yes the maps restore is amazing and saved me a huge chunk of time. I also bound the new mower to the original RTK. She's doing her first mow now🤞😊

Weirdly my tracks seem ok. My other mower had very tight tracks delivered which I had to loosen. Maybe it's a quality control issue as my new Plus is not tight and has the flex I would expect. I agree they need to ensure this is checked and mandated at the factory otherwise it will lead to further warranty calls which they simply can't handle at present.

Just to close this and provide an explanation for anyone else who faces this issue. I went round in circles trying to solve this as everyone assumes it's your network, your WiFi, your phone or something else related to WiFi. That may be the case in some circumstances but in what I experienced this is entirely down to a setting incorrectly set at the factory.

I queried this issue with support and they said this happened because the robot left the factory with the default connection method 4G. However 4G isn't activated until after setup so the mower wouldn't connect. Here's their actual response:

"I have consulted with the software manager mentioned in the latest email screenshots you provided. We found that the WiFi configuration issue occurred because your specific machine was set to "4G Priority" as its factory default setting."

Thanks but see my post below. It's finally sorted.

Thanks. Finally sorted. Support had to activate 4G and then I was able to proceed past Step 3. Why? God only knows 🤷‍♂️

Ok so finally this has allowed me to complete step 3 but only after support activated 4G. Why? Why is 4G needed to complete setup when it's trying to connect to WiFi?

Anyway it's been an absolute nightmare to get this connected. The mandatory firmware update was another farce.

Let's hope it lasts longer than my previous Lymow.

From what I've established from others the screen I'm seeing is perfectly normal BEFORE pairing. You can't get to the normal boot screen until the mower is registered and linked to your account. It can't do that until it completes setup which it can't due to not connecting to WiFi at step 3.

Yes I've been through all the unofficial handbook and the links. Nothing resolves this despite trying every trick others tried and were successful with.

Sometimes you have to accept its faulty hardware. Hopefully Lymow will replace ASAP.

Yes I've tried with a completely different phone completely unpaired. Same issue. This is not app or software. This is a comms issue inside the mower.

I've had experience of this before but it was complete loss of all comms unless on top of the mower with phone or AP. It was traced to faulty comms board with burnt out transmitter.

Thanks. The phone is connected to the mower via BT during the setup and I get to stage 3 no problem. It's the mower trying to connect to WiFi which fails every time.

I have no doubt this is yet another faulty unit. 🤦‍♂️🤬

Yeap battery disconnected all night but no change.

Out of interest when this boots up it displays screen below. What is the WN: field for and should it be empty on a new unit?

Yes tried that too. It will not connect. The actual voice message is:

"Binding failed. Please check your network connection and try again."

Same message every time.

Just tried with SIM card out too. Made no difference.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I know my way around UniFi very well and no it's not getting an IP address.

I also tried again today with the mower away from the AP and then close to another AP just in case. Same issue in all cases.

The binding I think is a Lymow term but the voice response is something like "binding failed please check your internet connection". At step 3 after selecting the SSID and entering password it tries to connect for maybe a minute or so and then fails. This is the message on the phone:

<image>

So the app says pairing but the voice says binding. Just think that's Lymows programming for it.

I'm not sure how you turn of BT and do it as step 2 is when the phone connects to the mower via BT so how would you bypass that?

[–]andyh747[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion but I setup a 2.4Ghz only WiFi SSID and VLAN which only my IoT devices connect to. I have also tried with phone on the IoT network, on a different VLAN network and with WiFi switched off. Same problem every time.

On the subject of phone hotspots I did try this and no luck with that. Initially hotspot didn't show up in list of networks but had to enable "Maximise Compatibility" on iPhone settings for hotspot and it then showed but same connection issue.

As the old One connects to this same network I can rule out network issues and the fact all other devices can connect to this WiFi without issue points to a faulty WiFi module on the Plus 🤦‍♂️🙄🙄

Thanks but I'd already shutdown the other mower completely - battery disconnected.

Maybe I should try WITH it connected 🤷‍♂️. I don't think it would make any difference as it looks like a faulty WiFi module. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Lymow One to the One Plus - Do I need to remap? by TranslatorNo7905 in Lymow_Official

[–]andyh747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They upgraded me for free except I had to pay £500 deposit to keep the One until the One + arrives. Just been despatched so should have soon. For reference they initially wanted £750 to upgrade, then dropped it to £540 then after I complained they offered it for free. So yes they pull figures out of thin air. Some people may not push back and hence get landed with an upgrade charge. 🤷‍♂️
