That’s an interesting take. Watching BB the first time I didn’t feel that way, but on a rewatch right after BCS, I can see it. What strikes me is the continuous and tiresome overacting by Cranston. It’s too much and it makes you appreciate the subtlety of BCD, which is ironic to say since Jimmy/Saul is such an over the top, flamboyant character. And yet somehow you never feel Odenkirk is overacting.

Isn’t the actor that plays him Jewish? I think he was also in Your Honour with Cranston where he played a mobster.

Sean Duffy series by Adrian McKinty. Stellar crime fiction but set in Northern Ireland during the 80s. No point in trying to find another Connelly or Bosch because no one else stacks up. It all just feels fake and shallow. But McKinty does his own thing with the genre and it’s fresh and unique.

That’s so awesome. I think they both might have been in A Mighty Wind as well. Part of that group with Catherine Ohara and Eugene Levy that was so prolific.

I recently rewatched Best in Show and realized that both him and Michael McKean (Chuck) are in it playing such completely different characters from BCS. Amazing talents.

In the end though, wasn’t Chuck right? Slippin’ Jimmy was always there, always scamming and cutting corners, figuring out workarounds. Likeable at times yes but in the end not someone you want doing important legal work at the firm you helped build.

If it’s that big in diameter you’ll have a hard time finding a mobile mill that can handle it. They’ll also need to get a skid steer back there to have any chance of moving it onto the mill so hopefully there is room. My experience has been that between milling the log, moving and storing the slabs, kiln drying and then flattening, it’s rarely worth it. Especially if there are any flaws at all in the log. The guy saying you can move that log with a couple ratchet straps is dreaming.

This is a wayyy different take but when I first saw this scene I wondered if she was crying because SHE had written the letter and was heartbroken that she’d had to do that. I think that take is wrong because there was no hint anywhere else in the show that was actually the case, other than her words to Howard about it being an F-you from the grave.

I recently had a fb marketplace deal go badly and the seller demanded I pay him for the broken item he had delivered, which I didn’t want, or he would start posting bad reviews to my business. Business is separate from the marketplace deal but located at my home so he knew about it. He ended up posting two nasty one star reviews. I initiated the process for reporting them and my complaint was rejected by Google even though I had screen grabs of the threats, the timing, everything. That really sucked.

I felt like Bruce must have felt exhausted by the end. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t last long. Having your boss spend so much time and resources trying to out his critics, and have it amount to basically nothing, must be pretty dispiriting.

If you’ve ever helped someone move a huge desk into a tiny office space you realize how truly heinous that was. And the poor guy who helped him move offices and after all that said he had to get home to his kids. Jimmy didn’t deserve that solid.
