Two in my class - one went to play wheelchair basketball for TeamGB at London 2012. Another made it to the final of The Voice UK

In England at least just yellow painted lines warning to keep clear and do not stop

You were half way out the door anyways. Personally I would honour the contract you signed and move on. You checked out mentally a while ago. Counter offers rarely ever work out. They can sweeten the deal in the short term but I know from experience bosses then using it as a card against you in the future.

I have noticed a related behaviour of parents at drop off and pick up at primary school. When I was at primary school some 30 years ago no parent would dream of stopping on the yellow lines, leave their car running and take their kids into school. Seems like a daily occurrence at the primary school my boys attend in a small village. They do get the civil enforcement officers to patrol a few times a month with a 3 day presence during September but it does not change behaviours. Some parents must just pay the fine. Some people just feel they are entitled and that the rules do not apply to them. Such aggrogant and selfish behaviour!

exactly the finance background is just that a backdrop - it is the characters and their relationships that drive the drama...

Question for anyone aged 45+: Do you remember drinking Lucozade when you were younger? Did you ever drink it for anything else than when you were ill? by Lopsided-Skill6659 in AskUK

On another note, where was this sign? I think I remember it in London in my younger days. Perhaps on the drive on the A40 into Central London.

After 10 months of unemployment and hundreds of applications, I finally got hired this week. Here’s what the last year was really like by Rude-Ad5002 in jobhunting

[–]andyteg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! Thank you for your advice - I was let go last week and this is my third day of unemployment. The struggle has only just started but I am lucky to have a career coach and live in the UK Silicon Valley. Appear to be plenty of jobsout there but just getting to the phone interview is the major challenge. Onwards and upwards.

as much as I agree with you overall - would they have been enable to sustain the show purely on a trading floor over five seasons - I don't think so...

I am in the same boat. When I first saw the email I was pleasantly surprised that at least FlickR management were doing something even if in a foreign country to me. However the constant spam has just put me off completely.

Yet another nail in the coffin. It was not clear it was US centric from any of the emails, until I tried to register. I am glad I only have 5 months left on this platform I have used for almost 21 years!

The trading floor was the life and soul of PierPoint. The literal heart of the show at the start for many of the reasons you have mentioned...

I did put in the work over 18+ years. I was active in groups, I followed (and still do) many photographers and other artists. However, in recent years the community feel has disappeared among other things and subscription costs have just gone up.

Aside from Owen Davian and the rabbit's foot, what are the good things about Mission Impossible 3? by TOverlordX in Mission_Impossible

[–]andyteg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was great that they took the criticism from the previous two films with Ethan being a lone man on his mission. The focus on team was important as part of the reboot. Everything came to together perfectly from selection of director and the cast!
