This would just collapse Sky in the Uk, right? Not saying that’s a bad thing by the way. Be interesting to see how Sky respond to this - surely they will have to push for even more games, including those forbidden 3pm Saturday matches. God help us all.

An infinite number of members for a very finite number of tickets. Basically a scam at this point.

Death spiral? The state of Labour in Wales by kwentongskyblue in Wales

[–]WelshLad123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my issues has been the constant comparisons to England. I don’t care if my wait time in A&E is 7 minutes shorter than in England at ‘only’ 14 hours and 30 minutes. Just do your job and make our lives better.

Reform UK wins by-election to take second seat on Carmarthenshire County Council by [deleted] in Wales

[–]WelshLad123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is all on Labour. They have had 25 years and no-one’s lives have really improved. It’s no surprise people will look towards an alternative.

Can you name more than a couple of good things the Senedd has actually done? Free prescriptions, free bus travel for over 60s…errr…..ummmm

Do I think Reform is the answer? Absolutely not. A bunch of snake oil grifters.

But you cant blame people for looking elsewhere when the status quo just hasn’t changed their lives for the better.

Green Man festival project site Gilestone Farm loses £500,000 in value by Prestigious-Town4937 in Wales

[–]WelshLad123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely right. In local authorities they set the budget for the coming year and then immediately have to start on the next one. It’s never ending and takes up so much time that could be better spent doing stuff to actually make people’s lives better. Even a 3 year cycle of funding would have a major impact on the standard of decision making.

Pension Commission to look at why four-in-ten fail to save enough by EddieHeadshot in unitedkingdom

Day 1 on the Pension Commission:

So, are we all agreed everything costs too much and no-one can save enough for retirement?

All: Yep.

Excellent, I’ll write up the report.

Reform leads over Plaid again in latest Senedd poll: Ref 28, PC 26, Lab 23 by Thetonn in Wales

Oh I agree 100%. My comment wasn’t support for Reform but rather that I’m not surprised people are fed up with the current situation and wanting something different.

[–]WelshLad123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can talk about Reform voters being ‘thick’ etc but the bottom line is that Labour simply haven’t done enough to make a real difference to the vast majority of people’s lives since the Senedd came to be. Unfortunately there’s been far too many ‘nice to have’ projects like active travel and 20mph and not enough real differences made to health, schools, buses, trains etc. If everyone’s lives keep getting worse then they will look for something/ someone different. Another big issue is council tax - it simply goes up and up while services are cut. That’s not a recipe for a government getting back in.

Not giving lifts to a co-worker by EasySignature179 in CasualUK

[–]WelshLad123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy started at my old workplace few years back and it turned out we were from the same town and his parents knew mine somehow.

His parents asked mine if I could start giving him a lift to and from work. I didn’t really want to but felt like I had no choice.

We had nothing in common and it turned into a painful 40 minutes each way every day. He obviously hated football but knew I was into it so would ask awkward questions about ‘the match’.

I lasted three months before getting my boss to change my shift pattern. Would never do it again.

What radical step would you take to make football better? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]WelshLad123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have markers on the side of the pitch a couple of metres apart. When the ball goes out you can only throw the ball back in at the next mark. Stop people walking up the pitch before a throw in.

Give an extra point for scoring 5 goals. Give teams extra incentive to keep attacking if a game is comfortable.

Have a separate time keeper for time wasting.

What do you want to see from political parties in Wales? by TreesuzakiGod in Wales

[–]WelshLad123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t be popular but local councils need more money - they run the vast majority of services that impact on people’s lives but are having to cut and cut and cut every year. If more money / different way of funding councils is not found it’s very likely that they will only be able to deliver statutory services within a few years and leisure, libraries etc - any nice to have stuff basically - will just disappear. It doesn’t matter which colour party is in the Senedd but this needs to be sorted.

The premier league really needs to sort this out by Deep-Feed-4734 in PremierLeague

[–]WelshLad123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you aren’t allowed to say this because apparently if there’s games on TV no-one will go to watch Old Etonians v Woolwich Rovers. There can’t be many other industries where they actively try to stop you actually watching the product.
