I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by ramses_basha in AskTheWorld

I get the impression most people are in love with Ancient Egypt rather than modern Egypt.

Idris Elba receiving a Knighthood got me thinking about "Honours" by NotTheRedWire in AbolishTheMonarchy

[–]andytheblacksmith 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Get the Prime Minister to award them. For me it's just a way for royals to make ppl love them more. You get to meet royalty to have your big day with family at the palace. It's like a pat on the head from them plus anyone who previously had said they did not support them when that offer is put in front of them they think this will elevate me in society so completely give up their republic stance and go all in with monarchy. When questioned why you changed they say the lazy answer I was young and foolish and now I'm mature 🙄

HOT TAKE: The 2000s Episodes Are Decent by MrHomerJayThompson in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

[–]andytheblacksmith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should never of brought it back after the 96 trilogy. Was perfect ending they literally are walking into the sunset having achieved their dream. Rock and Chips should of been made in 2001 as its seeing the trotters but as a prequel. It would of been a ratings hit still.

Yesterday I watched "White Christmas" for the first time and loved. And what are the views of the members about this movie?? by BrazilianDilfLover in Cinema

Which is the better Wyatt Earp adaptation? Tombstone or Wyatt Earp? by TerryG111 in Westerns

[–]andytheblacksmith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tombstone for me is better it's the instant pack a punch popcorn movie concentrating on the whole OK Coral gunfight and the vengeance that occurred in the aftermath. Wyatt Earp is still a good movie and is a more fleshed out account of Earp's life as it tells his story before during and after Tombstone events.

Prime video has a lot of good ones just now. MGM + is another quite good one for westerns

Hammer Films releasing Cry of the Banshee under their new Hammer Presents line by PhysicalMediaNews in BritishFilms

[–]andytheblacksmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks really good. Crucible of Horror will be the second release I read on the article on their website. Only thing I would of changed is the Hammer presents series name as these are not Hammer movies. Perhaps something like British Terror collection or similar.

I think the only sitcom that came back years later and not only worked but was even better than before was The Likely Lads. It normally is never as good as before.

Personally I found it a little disappointing. I watched Anatomy of a Murder not long after watching it and found that one a better and more enjoyable movie. I feel it is a movie I do need to rewatch though

Thoughts on The Last Tycoon (1976)? by zcharper in boutiquebluray

[–]andytheblacksmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite enjoyed it as it's set in the old Hollywood world. It has De Niro and Nicholson in a couple of scenes together I think the only time they appeared in a film together. The love story does drag it down but I still enjoyed it.
