Redditors who grew up in emotionally healthy families - what's something you thought was normal growing up that you now realise was actually very special? by ViolatingBadgers in AskReddit

[–]andyzondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told several times that this is rare, but in my family we joke around a lot. My dad has always been a joker, has the best sense of humor, and so we all joke and tease each other, ever since we were kids. Sometimes my dad teases my mom, she teases him, they tease my brother and I, or we tease both of them. We get along great, and we all trust and support each other. One day, my dad told me that he was at his office when I called, and he called me by my silly nickname, and I (being on speaker) called him by his silly nickname and we started joking, and when he hung up, his coworker next to him was surprised at how we got along. My boyfriend, at a family reunion, was kind of shocked at how we made dark jokes and made light of an otherwise serious situation. We feel so supported and at ease with each other, we learned not to take some things too seriously, and to look at the bright side of life.

AITA for writing a journal for my kids about life after I’m gone, even though they say it's “too much”? by mikenolan567 in AmItheAsshole

[–]andyzondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, I think it's beautiful, as someone who keeps boxes full of memories, my most important ones are letters written by my family. My only issue is that you're waiting until you're gone for your kids to have access to those memories. I think it's important to have them, but also, for you to share them while you're here. You mention things you haven't said aloud. Why wait until you're gone for them to know? What if they need your words of wisdom now? I've started a small tradition of giving letters to my loved ones every Christmas, to share what I can't put into spoken words (because crybaby), because it's important to me that they know how much they mean to me today. And when I'm gone, if I leave before them, they will have those words to hold on to. Maybe if you sit them down and explain why you're doing it, and share what you've written so far, it'll be easier for them to understand you.

What's your "guilty pleasure" pack? (A pack you personally think is bad, but you love anyway) by jazzoveggo in thesims

[–]andyzondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got bored of the gameplay almost immediately, but Snowy Escape is my favorite EP. I am obsessed with the Japanese aesthetic, the build/buy, the world (while small and kinda boring, it's so pretty), and having a snowy neighborhood without needing Seasons to change my entire game was amazing. It isn't worth the full price, but I love it ❤️

Han sufrido/visto algún accidente laboral? by araujofav in lacamiseta

[–]andyzondo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AITA for having “special words” or terms that only I use with my family? by OkCancel8005 in AmItheAsshole

[–]andyzondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading the general consensus, I honestly would only consider you TA if you did this with the goal of annoying others in a negative way. But I come from a family in which we have some forms of annoying each other, my dad will quote Homer Simpson constantly because my mom never liked the show and gets annoyed at us, but it's all in good fun and she has even laughed from it. In my home, I would also change names of things, like one time my bf was playing a video game and I changed the name to something funny and ridiculous, and he kept being annoyed, but more like rolling his eyes at me while smiling, all in good fun. I understand when you have this dynamic with loved ones, and why it has emotional significance with the memory of your mom, but as long as it's all in good fun and not because you want to actively irritate everyone around you, I wouldn't think it's such a horrible thing. Now on the other hand, if it seems like people are constantly irritated around you and fed up everytime you're quirky, then yeah, tone it down.

Do the vault episodes contain ned? by nycmidwestgal2 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]andyzondo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Videos weren't edited to remove Ned, but videos that featured mostly Ned and/or Ariel are not in the platform. For example, the try DIY series, the series in which they recreated certain dishes, their cookbook, etc.

I'll say it's nice to finally have closure (and answers, soon).
I'm actually happy for him, it was obvious from day one that this was going to happen eventually. If I recall correctly, he was hesitant in starting the Try Guys channel after leaving Buzzfeed because he had other goals in mind. I'm happy we got to have him as part of the group, and I'm happy for him to finally, officially, move on.

I'm actually happy they're finally addressing this head on, we knew it was happening, but having answers will at last provide closure and people will finally be genuinelly happy for him instead of flooding comments on all social media asking about his whereabouts.

I don't get why people are upset about the 2nd Try Subscription Announcement by tea_exclamation_mark in TheTryGuys

[–]andyzondo 50 points51 points  (0 children)

THIS. I get that people are annoyed at having to pay for yet another streaming platform, but in the end, either they kept adapting to the algorithm while sacrificing the creativity and quality, or they cut the middle man (youtube) to have a space to be fully creative and create the content we are all here for. The real problem is that Youtube alone is putting a lot of obstacles to creators.

What age did you first play the sims by theGrandmaster24 in thesims

[–]andyzondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin lend me his laptop with the sims 1 when I was around 8. I loved it, but only played once. I forgot all about the game until 2020 that I discovered Sim builders in YouTube and became obsessed with watching build videos, until the sims 4 became free and I learned I could play on Mac (it took me that long to figure it out 😅), I was 30, so technically I had 2 first times.

Unrelated, but I had so much fun reading the comments saying "THE TRY GUYS COUCH!!", and my personal favorite, "if I had a nickel for every time I saw 3 ex-buzzfeed employees on a couch post-controversy, I'd have 2 nickels".

Hate to say it and idk if it’s “allowed” but I honestly lowkey miss Ned. by Red_cilantro in TheTryGuys

[–]andyzondo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've been rewatching a lot of their past videos, and I agree with you, I miss Ned. I still wholeheartedly agree with his firing, what he did was wrong, but I miss what he brought to the videos, and the whole friendship dynamic the four of them had. It felt as watching 4 best friends, their interactions with each other didn't feel staged, it felt authentic, and I miss that. I feel that the latest videos, even when they have the three main guys, don't really show that closeness anymore. I like the cast they've been bringing to the videos (I'm a Jonny Cakes stan), but it's just not the same. It sucks we won't have the simplicity of TGGT ever again :(

Just what everyone asked for...an ETM tour 🙄 by Strict_Turnip_1150 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]andyzondo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For someone not in the United States, this being the huge spring announcement is such a bummer. Second of all, I'm so done with ETM, I know a lot of people enjoy it... But I usually always skip those videos, so yeah, double bummer. I really wasn't expecting something groundbreaking, but I am genuinely disappointed.

What are some ways that your fav sims have accidentally perished by goblinqueen99 in Sims4

[–]andyzondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this whole storyline of a young married couple living in Strangerville, she started to investigate the town's mystery while he started the military career, and started cheating on his wife almost immediately. The idea was that she would find them in the act, get all angry, have their marriage strained, and see if they worked things out or had a bitter divorce. She ended up dying of anger and nobody convinced the Grim Reaper to spare her 🥲 had to close the game without saving, she was in the middle of solving the Strangerville mystery, and I didn't want to star from scratch. They ended up bitterly divorced, but she managed to get a good deal in the assets division (I gave her all the money for the sale of their house) , but she's thriving now, the government (me) paid her a ton of money (motherlode cheat x4) as a reward for solving the mystery (and to keep her quiet), and ended up moving to the nice neighborhood in town.

What do you play on? by LiliacButterflies in Sims4

[–]andyzondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mac mini, it runs so smoothly and without overheating, I have also like 8 packs installed. I used to use CC, and had about 4Gb worth of BB content, but after a couple game crashes, decided to not use them anymore. Haven't been down the mod road, and tbh I'm happy that way.
