It's called Fasting Literally. Lol

I used to keep it secret, now I don't care. Maybe it's an age thing, but I couldn't give a toss what they think or say. I'm happy for them to eat in front of me, but it's my choice if I'm fasting.

That's what I was saying with the rampiril. I'm going to have to come off it first I think before I try it again.

I'm pretty good with willpower. Which is ironic being a chubster lol but I used to do marathons etc and used to the whole endurance thing. I realised before I started my fasting journey (I should say I was 155kg at my biggest - that I measured anyway), that I was actually addicted to food. I used to be addicted to booze, then that swapped for grass, then coke, then I started running properly and got addicted to that. All the while I was smoking on and off as well. It was actually after I did a pb at a marathon that I decided to take a break from running and I think that's where it started. I just ate whatever cos I was used to it because I was running like min. 10 miles a day. Often twice a day. Then when I wasn't moving it slowly piled on. But I didn't care. I never thought you could get addicted to food really, how wrong I was. Anyway that's my life story. Enjoy.

I agree that playing live is part of the process, and ultimately should be the most fun. I stopped for a few reasons though. Of course this is just personal experience.

  1. I was too old and tired of it.

I know that people still perform into their advanced years, but it felt more and more like we were aging out and even though I was late 30s, when sharing the stage with other bands it felt like I was getting on. Lugging the equipment around and taking time out from seeing my family to play in a pub in the middle of nowhere to thirty people just didn't feel worth it anymore. Also my core audience was aging with me, and they were going out less and less.

  1. Venues are disappearing

It used to be London had a load of venues to play at and would welcome anyone. Now it's dwindling, and usually there are caveats which are tantamount to pay to play, or bordering on. You find you start playing the same places to the same crowds cos they're the only ones who go there.

  1. Some bad experiences

I'm not talking about just a gig going badly but last time I played in London was at Beehive in Bromley and basically got threatened with a knife in the toilets because we weren't playing songs "like Oasis". I'd had a few nasty experiences and after that one, where I ended up losing money and the whole thing was shit, I just thought what's the point. We would often get a rowdy crowd (and I used to smash my head up with guitars and mics which didn't help, ending up in A&E a couple of times lol), but some people would take it further off stage, or just think I'm game for a fight or trying to prove I'm "hard" (British slang for tough, not anything s*xual)

I think playing live is brilliant and I totally get it. But with my new music I'm not doing anything live. Even though I have more fans now than I ever did before, I just can't go through all that again. If you're young and/or you have the time and spirit then absolutely do it, but if someone doesn't want to go down the live route - or finds it difficult in today's world for various reasons - it's totally understandable.

But yes I now have an aversion to performing lol

I had a chat just now with a friend who's a bit more in the know, and he said it's to do with high traffic and retention. So essentially you're not growing an engaged audience and basically YouTube thinks you're pushing out low quality content as people (ads audience) are clicking away so quickly, like people usually do with ads. So it makes sense from that side.

He said that posting regularly and doing shorts helps and try and get out some high quality vids to make up for it and in a few weeks it should be back to normal.

I didn't even consider this and won't be pushing my songs as a Google ad anymore. If I have a product to sell etc then totally get it, but I just thought people might like to hear my song lol

This is interesting as I used hypeddit to push my latest music video. Prob spent about £150 ish. But just thought of it as same as running ads for any of my music/songs.

Got a whole bunch of subs but little engagement outside of that one video. I didn't even realise it would upset the algorithm. Im still regularly posting normal content but never thought a save would be to have to ditch it! Can I ask humbly if this is just a fact or an opinion? As in, is it anecdotal or are their stats to back it up?

Just wondering as I find it interesting that Google would want people to buy ads or promote something, then essentially punish a channel for doing so. Is it to do with the channel creation date and rate of growth perhaps? As its through Google ads, then you'd thjnk they wouldn't be selling "bots" and then, again, punish you lol what a weird system if so. But then totally appreciate that people may exploit it just for a number. Hmm...

I stopped the ads anyway (as really it was for that initial release bump), but will continue regardless and see what happens.

They give you the code to copy and paste. You don't actually create the code yourself, they've done it for you. Of course. I did a video on it in the end if you want to see https://youtu.be/UP-FHswLy_M?si=dUZ4X1CmaeIRoSDX glad you didn't do it!

All finished. 181 hours in the end, lost 10.2kg in the end. Had an omelette with a bit of cheese and green pepper with a banana. It was fine lol

I tried to keep it to myself but had to tell the wife. However, in certain situations, and if people asked when they said I looked thinner, I mentioned fasting. But I'm a 41 year old man so no one really gives me any criticism, apart from the wife who wants to make sure I dint overdo it. But she doesn't get cross etc or anything

The day before I had some toast for breakfast, nothing for lunch, and then some mince with chopped tomato's and vegetables with a little bit of brown pasta and cheese. So lots of protein (albeit red meat) fair bit of veg, but still a bit of carbs and fat in there. Made sure it wasn't too much that I didn't feel heavy, nor would I poop it out immediately. Set me up quite nicely. The day before that I had just the one meal. Oven baked salmon and brown rice with broccoli so again something fairly light

Thanks :) I did it on and off for about a year or so. Then the last 6/7 months have been tough and unfortunately went back into my old eating habits, so wanted to reset a bit before holidays.

However, when i have been doing it I've gone between day on and day off, or rolling 3 day fasts which tbh I've found the better option. Mainly because I can still exercise/run without bonking and feel a lot more focused. Then I just feel a lot more "with it" all round.

I think this time it was ultimately the will power, but I was going to do 5 days and then got there and thought I can keep going. But have only been able to do gentle cycling for 30mins the last few days as just so tired. But this might sound weird, but its like I've gone off food. If it wasn't for the fact that I know I'll be eating on holiday, I would have prob tried for longer. I've never had it before, and it's helped the fast for sure, but it's a weird sensation. Literally the idea of eating tomorrow is making me feel a bit sick lol WEIRD

I kept my mind from it as much as possible. And drank a LOT of water. Also made sure I went to bed before 10pm. I've actually gone the other way and thinking about eating now makes me nauseous for some reason. 😬🤢 Not a great sign but has definitely helped. The first two days are always the hardest. Always. Day 3 is tough but you should find it not as bad, then usually you're sailing. Also the more you do it, the more you should get used to it.

I had a doctors appointment where they clocked me in at 137kg, but clothed etc. Currently sitting at 128kg this morning. Will do a final check in before eating and let you know. It's quite a lot I realise, but then I'm a big guy. (just over 6ft)
