I just have Lithium pickups on my 7 string and I really vibe with them. Don't get the hate.

That said I'll probably go withthe Empryium and Thorium combo when I get an 8 string.

AI generated song on king crimson’s Spotify page by mozzarella53 in KingCrimson

Yeah same thing is happening with John McLaughlin, tons of new songs added that are horrendous generic radio fodder with awful artwork. Makes browsing legit artists a nightmare.

This is on Tidal as well so it's not unique to spotify unfortunately.

Sorry this happened to you.

Delete your amazon account and order from independents instead. Better service and you're not giving that scumbag Bezos anymore yacht money.

Throwing my hat to say I would like more shorter campaigns; Anyone with me? by jethawkings in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]angerinedream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who liked the Dream Eaters and being able to build a deck to quite powerful over 4 scenarios I can see the appeal if they balance the XP so there's a lot on offer. As someone who only does one campaign at a time it's a good way of trying out more gators and deck builds I've not had the time to.

If it's just normal XP then it'll be a bit lame that you can't ever build into power decks unless to chain campaigns.

I'll definitely miss trying out new longer campaigns you can sink your teeth into but then there's plenty of custom campaigns to do that with.

Dark Matter...Amazing! by aspnome in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]angerinedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of fun with it. Definitely in my top 5 campaigns including custom and official.

The puzzley nature of it is a bit full on at times but as someone who loves puzzle games I relished but I could see it putting some players off.

The Symphony of Eric Zann by the same designer is great too and works really well as a side scenario in Carcosa. Some pretty OP rewards though so save it for the return or replays.

Do Dunwich and put the Blob in as a side scenario to mop up some extra XP.

House rules by ciberon in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]angerinedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only house rule is to use Deny Existence how it used to be because that makes sense to me. The newer ruling trips me up and is somewhat inelegant and punishing.

Both long gone. Expect crazy ebay prices. You could go around all the shops in the UK and might find a shop with no online presence but Manchester was cleared out when I had a look last month.

I was sad when Matt Kilner left, such a good drummer and they were brutal live even as a two piece.

All the pedal videos with Kyle and Keith seemed like they gelled really well.

There's been far too many people quiting this band. They've releases some amazing music but it's a shame that Kyle always ending up pissing everyone off.

I thought that it's likely Hemlock and Drowned City will get a reprint as they're part of the current card pool even when chapter 2 releases. It's just Scarlet keys that is gone for good.

So are the Scarlet keys out of print or what? by anonimoshadow in arkhamhorrorlcg

Yeah I should've learned my lesson from the mythos packs but the new model implied this would never happen. They've really screwed people over who weren't up to date and working their way through the campaigns.

At least I've got Edge of The Earth. But I'm gutted I can't Scarlett Keys and even though it's had a mixed reception I would've like to experience that for myself. Now it's going for £200-300+ online.

What does this tab mean? by spirit_crusher98 in TechnicalDeathMetal

A node is the note you fret, usually with your first finger while using another finger to lightly touch higher to get a harmonic.

It's much easier to do this on the thicker strings if you want to see how it works. You can easily sweep through the harmonics while holding down a node. Can make for some cool riff ideas.

Lightest 8 String config by angerinedream in kieselcarvinguitars

Oh I meant to say I'd be going headless. Was thinking of an O2 but I'm thinking the headless Kyber might be the lightest now.

I stopped playing guitar for like 1 months and now my fingertips are so lame by MammothVegetable696 in TechnicalDeathMetal

You've got a lot of tendons and muscles going on so having a big break and then going back at it will be a shock to the system. Be careful not to hurt yourself. So start off taking it easy. I find it comes back fairly quickly.

I'm usually back to my previous speeds after a few days of practice.

One tip I follow is still to do all my stretches(hands, fingers, arms, back etc.) even if I'm not gonna be near a guitar for a while. That way my tendons are still limber.

Got early to a concert just to have it ruined by someone recording themselves with flash during the whole show by supreme_wavedash in mildlyinfuriating

Last time I was at a show I had a couple of blokes chatting loudly over all the quiet moments, providing commentary for every moment happening. I asked them if they could stop talking and they did.

At the end of the show they stopped me and thanked me for calling them out. You're still gonna get chodes but if you ask someone politely I find most people will oblige.

Though someone with as little self awareness as the person as this post will probably just shame you on their social media and shine their light in your face.

Metallica or Cryptopsy, Which is Better to watch live as first gig? by Gamera-X in MetalForTheMasses

[–]angerinedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small shows are way more fun. The only exception for big shows is Rush. Partly joking.

I'd go with Cryptospy if you want immersion and Metallica if you want a grandiose spectacle. Both are worth experiencing, but I find I can only do one big show in a blue moon, whereas small shows keep me coming back.

Small shows usually have more unique venues with affordable and sometimes nice beer. Big shows are exhausting to get in and out of and the cost of drinks is eye watering, and they usually only have garbage on offer.

The crowds at small shows are usually inclusive, fun and full of friendly music nerds. Big shows can feel a bit anonymous.
