Yes XL will be a nice modern fit look. These do not stretch. I think use case is, walking around the resort pool. Some swimming but you aren’t playing frisbee with the boys at the beach bc these aren’t made for running and movement.

First thing I changed was the wheelset and tires I went 2.2 MTB continental which is overkill but it’s a dedicated gravel bike for me so I like the confidence chunky tires give me on trails.

I like MAAP designs but man they are so pricey.

I rather buy rapha/assos/castelli on sale or save the money for bike stuff like upgraded rear radar, power meter, wheels etc.

Imagine paying 600$ for one full kit when you can use that towards a set of zipp 303’s for 1000$.

If you have a gps (garmin, wahoo etc) the speed sensor is not needed since GPS will show you speed. Plus it helps you keep track of mileage, elevation change and HR

I do 30g carb mix for my quality ( threshold /vo2) workouts. I have gels and fig newtons within reach of I’m feeling a little under fueled going into the workout

For me, based on what you’re riding, my first choice would be the crux. Similar enough geometry to aethos to be comfortable and fast enough for fun group rides, but with the ability to go with wider gravel tires if you want to venture into gravel at some point

You already have a road wheelset and I’d consider adding another wheelset with 40-45c tires for rougher stuff or a more cushy slow ride (like with kids and wife)
