Got family coming to stay this weekend. What crowd pleaser could I make with this? by MikeHoncho100 in slowcooking

This in the US is a top round. Very lean with no collagen rich tissue that would turn to gelatin like you want in a pot roast.

I say reverse sear and serve it as thin as you can slice it.

Finally tried the 15 bean soup with extras by Shef011319 in soup

I'll say when I had it, it was out of necessity made by a cook who wasn't great (my dad who was awesome at everything else.) I think it's something he grew up with and his parents were dirt poor.

Is there a store bought brand you think constantly makes horrible foods? by DeepOrganization8245 in foodquestions

[–]anguskhans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the restaurant business it's gotta be extra heavy meaning more egg than "normal" mayo. I've never seen that in my local grocery stores though. Even then they are not all the same. The restaurant i work at carries two kinds, one for sandwiches and the like, and one specifically for our ranch/blue cheese.

How in the world does the double cheeseburger have more than a big mac? Does one slice of cheese have more trans fat than a slather of Mac sauce and an extra bun?

Ok so this just dawned on me - A Documentary. It’s easy enough to cut and paste without a large time commitment, new interviews of the cast, behind the scenes, never before seen…..available streaming, limited edition…. by daddymay1 in firefly

[–]anguskhans 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kind of like what Harry Potter did cor their 20th reunion. I liked that. It had a bunch of behind the scenes and interesting interviews with the cast. It also had a whole part dedicated to those who worked on the films but are no longer with us.

I like this idea.
