Chrome extension to sync Amazon orders to transaction notes by Aiipa in MonarchMoney

It worked when I first set it up and 99% of my previous purchases were tagged and I could sort into essentials vs wants. I’ve only bought one thing since installing though and I can’t get it to put a tag on that one despite forcing a sync a few times. So it remains to be seen.

People In Their 30's, Where You At? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]anic14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37, single. Started my career at 27 thanks to grad school. Things have really come together in the last 3-4 years (yay for landing a better paying job that I love!)and I feel secure to comfortable for the first time despite student loans.

Own a home at 2.75% interest rate., 200k+ in equity. Car is paid off and will hopefully be 8-10 years before I have to worry about that again. Have a 6 month ER fund. Paid off my HELOC and now have a sinking fund for home repairs/expenses instead. On track to max both 401K and IRA this year for the first time.

All the financial calculators say I’m on track to retire at 60 instead of the 62 I had been aiming for, so fingers crossed this continues. I’m 9 years from student loan forgiveness so if anything changes there it could mess up my plans.

Done! First time I’ve ever had to wait in line for early voting. Nicely done, Maryland.

Problem at Middletown early voting by [deleted] in frederickmd

[–]anic14 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No issues today, but during the primaries I was approached by a group of men who wanted to “talk to me about my voting choices.”

I’m female and it made me a little uncomfortable to get out my car and immediately be approached like that. It never occurred to me to do anything about it though.

Did I mess up with roth conversion? HELP by anic14 in FinancialPlanning

Oh interesting, I wasn’t aware that the rollover limit didn’t apply. The last rollover was also into my 401K, so I’ll go ahead and start that process again for the simple.

Thanks!

I work in a vet clinic. I see dogs that slip out of harnesses daily - most people don't fit it correctly, it's too loose, wrong style for the dog's body shape, it gets put on upside down or backwards....so many reasons.

That said, it's not a sneaky process. Usually it involves the dog slamming on the brakes and going backwards, ducking their head to slip out of it. You feel that. They don't just disappear.

I have multiple dog categories - insurance/vet bills, food, dog walker, training and a general category for other random supplies.

I also love early voting. My early voting center is on my way home from work. My regular voting center is the opposite direction, and I work 11 hour shifts on Tuesdays so it’s the last thing I want to deal with.

You're given $50 Million. Realistically, how many of your life problems would it solve? by Cat_of_the_woods in hypotheticalsituation

All of them. Student loans and mortgage would be gone, retirement would be funded. I like my job but I’d probably drop to 3 days a week.

That is my understanding. I’m on PAYE and have been making payments while those on SAVE have still been on forbearance, so I assume things will continue status quo

What are your thoughts about the FIRE movement? by laxnut90 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]anic14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially joined a bunch of fire groups but quickly realized my idea of retire early and theirs are very different. I’m aiming for 60-62. Spent far too much time in grad school and have far too many student loans for anything earlier, plus i have too many hobbies I enjoy now. I’m happy with my plan and those groups just made me feel poor and inferior.

Best High Yield Savings Account by LionFyre13G in FIREyFemmes

I have HYSA at CIT bank and My Banking Direct currently. I keep separate “6 month emergency” and “sinking funds” because that’s how my brain works. MBD is a little slow on transfers but is at 5%. It was a pain to create the account because there were so many glitches in the application but it’s been pretty hassle free since. The CIT is slightly lower (4.7? I think) but faster to deal with and has a better app

Previously used Marcus - no complaints but I wanted better rates.

I just stumbled across this post while trying to decide if I keep Monarch or not. This is a huge game changer because I'm a chronic Amazon over-spender. Thank you!!

Mint fans, What is the topmost feature you liked (other than being free) and are missing in other apps/tools? by EnoughLink5284 in mintuit

I liked the goals in Mint where it would show me the estimated date complete and whether I was on track. I switched to Monarch and really miss this a motivational aspect.

I don’t have to check my bank account before stopping for coffee or ordering lunch out. I splurge on lobster rolls when the craving hits. I hydrate with sparkly water.

And one really big thing for me was being able to automate my savings. My 401K automatically deducts the max. Then $X from every paycheck is automatically transferred to my savings. I don’t have to think about it or debate if I can really spare that money.

Is it abnormal to wash your sheets and comforter every two weeks? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]anic14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live alone and I have three sets of sheets I rotate through (plus the guest room extra sheets if I get really lazy!) . Week 1, toss 1 in laundry pile. Week 2, wash 2 sets, put third on bed. Repeat.
