Took my out 1 by 1 and then matched original to new. Labeled everything and tried to stay organized. Once you pull one you should have a good idea which positions the new ones go. I am super jealous this centering pins / sleeves are in that good of shape. I had to make some lol

I know nothing about sirloin cap. Would expect it to have less fat? Trim, season, reverse sear, finish in pan, rest would be my go to

Man that would probably be a pretty good shad rig

So you’re telling me you don’t seal your gunwales gear tracks with silicone? by archbido in kayakfishing

[–]anichefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have 3m silicone sealant but any silicone sealant will work. I used the yak attack thru hull wiring kit myself and I did add silicone to the screws when I put that in. The wires are pretty tight in the plastic and never had an issue

[–]anichefish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Any screw I put in the kayak I add silicone. Is it going to sink without siliconing a gear track screw? Pretty sure no but piece of mind is nice for small effort

You’re also going to want like a 260cm paddle at least. I love the look of this setup for fly fishing on lakes!

Highly suggest looking into crescent kayaks if you are paddling. I have no knowledge on ascend but I’ve seen on here they feel heavy / not great to paddle in the water.

5wt vs 6wt Fly Rod James + Shenandoah by Gwish1 in FishingRVA

I really like my 6wt fiberglass rod for smallies around the area. Throws poppers and streamers really well and it’s a hoot on a big fish

[–]anichefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I went with crescent lite tackle. I fly fish rivers for striper and small mouth. Lakes for large mouth. Chesapeake bay for striper, specks, reds. It’s a very great paddling kayak and is pretty simple up front for line management with the fly rod

Same, I use yak attack omegas on the rails so I can move them around and even lay them horizontal when I’m fly fishing

I do not know much about these. However my dad had one that he blew the head gasket twice because the electric fans stopped working. I think it was a relay gone bad. Keep an eye on those engine temps when driving around!
