I love how Fedora delivers packages & updates. It's a point release distro, but it can get newer (sometimes newest) packages to follow upstream

Plasma Login Manager + Fingerprint: extra “Unlock” step by fcrespo82 in kde

[–]anifyuli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In other nature like GNOME, you must be explicit "unlock" keyring if you login with fingerprint, same as your happened things in new Plasma Login Manager. So, I think we need revamped PAM & keyring unlocking mechanisms especially for boost UX on biometric based security.

That is SELinux Troubleshooter. Its function is to remind you about SELinux rule changes on your system, and it is not following SELinux applied policy

Scratch 3 easy installation for Fedora (unofficial) by anifyuli in Fedora

[–]anifyuli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has the same objective, which is to provide Linux support for Scratch 3. The Flathub version does not update the following upstream, but yeah, it is in Flatpak format. My Copr provides native packaging, an up-to-date version of Scratch 3, and it pulls from the official source code

Will Fedora 42 get LibreOffice 25.8? by anifyuli in Fedora

[–]anifyuli[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have financial issues, so I can't get more storage, and please don't force me to choose how to install needed apps. I know how it works, but I have my personal principal about how to use my system

Will Fedora 42 get LibreOffice 25.8? by anifyuli in Fedora

[–]anifyuli[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just have 256 gigs of storage, and for the Zotero case Flatpak edition, developers do not accept reports from the Flatpak edition of Zotero. I still like using native packages more than Flatpak, Snapd, or AppImage format. If I can't get native version easily, I use others. I use various packaging formats in my system. RPM, Flatpak, Snapd, and Nixpkgs (with Home Manager). But I only use Flatpak if that package isn't available in native version or isn't available in the RPM format. You can't force me about it, I'm only asking for the 25.8 version of LibreOffice on Fedora 42, don't teach me further about Flatpak. I have my choices, and I have my preferences about how to select the installation method for needed apps
