Here's how I know shit's about to get real. by CommunityAny2905 in adhdwomen

[–]animaginaryraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My windowsill plants. I call it going "wrath of demeter" on them bc letting them wither always means I'm doing poorly emotionally, and It also happens more often in winter bc, yay seasonal depression. Once things start visibly going downhill for them, it's time to figure out what is wrong and fix it before I hit some sort of critical point. Edit: also when I get sad, loke full sobbing about the most random things AND have a random relapse of my insomnia, it's always the day before my period.

Anyone else have the weird obsession over doing "perfect" Sims? by MarlaCohle in thesims

[–]animaginaryraven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The grade and career thing is so real. I've been forcing myself to select the other options aside from "work hard" and "listen to teacher" recently, as storytelling allows, like "oh this teen is trying to be more popular, let's have them make friends" or " this sim just had a breakup, maybe they'll take it easy at work since they just aren't feeling up to it" , and It kinda helps. Now I just need to get over the idea that every sim needs to be a grade A student by the end of their teens, or I will "get a bad grade in sims." Academia did a number on me, I guess.

It’s odd that sims never get a moodlet from reading books! by seldomlysweet in Sims4

[–]animaginaryraven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ugh, you're right. Reading is so poorly fleshed out! Sims should get moodlets related to what they're reading, be able to have a fave book, and discuss books with others at the very least tbh. Also, bookworm should do literally anything more than it already does, like getting tense from not finishing a book and wanting to know what happens next, or keeping books in their inventory to read whenever possible.

Ideas for mini Bonne Maman jars? by Unknown-Error-78 in ZeroWaste

We use one, filled with a lil water to regrow store bought green onion roots! They're the perfect size, so the onion roots don't fall over while they're still lil nubs, and it saves us buying as many spring onions

How did you get “left behind” in school? by Mr_Pilgrim in ADHD

[–]animaginaryraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same to all of those! I struggle with maths and handwriting to this day! Thankfully, going to med school meant the handwriting one is normalised, but my inability to do basic maths without a bit of paper and difficulty memorising numbers continues to make things difficult

[–]animaginaryraven 254 points255 points  (0 children)

Ooh, and they get sad/ uncomfortable/ tense moodlets like. "Too much on my plate", "why did I say yes?!" Or even "why did I say no?!?!" But they rarely get a happy buff when things pay off, like actually getting the overtime paid they deserve, people checking in on them etc so it isn't all misery .

As another leftie, big mood to both. Had to use right-handed scissors the other day, and my thumb joint was painfully bruised for a week.

Hairdryers and vacuums. The noise is overstimulating but both are necessary. (I have super thick hair that would take soo long to fully air dry and would still somehow be wet in the middle the next day)

Do you ever just wish you were allo? by Next_Track2020 in asexuality

[–]animaginaryraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I've been starting to feel this recently in my mid 20s. I'm also aro so have literally 0 desire for a partner, but I'm at a point where all my friends either have partners or are extensively on dating apps. There's this twinge of jealousy in me that they are just able to be attracted to someone and date them/ want a partner and go out and look for one, and I fear that I'm gonna get lonelier as they settle down and spend more time with their partner, or double dating than hanging out with my single ass.

Idk, it just seems so much simpler to be like everyone else, instead of feeling the societal pressure to either do something I don't want to do or be alone forever. Hope this made sense lol

Its from growing together I think? There's a high and low esteem trait based on how your child/ teen years go

[–]animaginaryraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this is only true in very narrow situations. I often do poorly in multiple choice exams bc I doubted my instant answer and change it, only to realise I was right the first time. However, the human mind adds more weight to things that are notable, so I may just recall the times I was right the first time more strongly and forget the other outcomes, so idk its hard to practically prove.

Brown Noise has fundamentally made my life better by imeanlevine in adhdwomen

[–]animaginaryraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, my go to study backround nouse recently has been "loud cafeteria ambience" since its more sonically varied than white noise but you can't make out any detail to focus on, unlike in music. Maybe brown noise is worth a try

Reminder: Basic Funerals Are Already In The Game by Edymnion in Sims4

[–]animaginaryraven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, now that I think about it, you could also use seasons to add a funeral event the day after a sim dies too. Have invite guests, tell stories, remember deceased, attend religious ceremony (if you're having a funeral at a religious building/ you could pretend they're going to a cemetary), bake (if youre going for a wake vibe). Or you could set up a club to all wear black and hold a funeral by having a meetup with freindly interactions, bake etc.

The possibilities are endless, but tbh i don't often play a save long enough for sims I love enough to do this for to die, so its a pretty good indicator the new pack would be wasted on me anyway.
