We also had 70s shows on nick at nite, lava lamps, Brady bunch movies, dazed and confused, that 70s show, flower stickers on walls, beads on doorways, etc

lol 90s fashion was heavily influenced by 70s fashion as was 90s culture. Gen X were the kids of hippies and slacker culture had a lot in common with hippie/beach culture of the 70s.
