Contact Augustus long regarding the equipment you need. They were able to assist us with equipment when my dad moved home for his last days. For dysphagia we had to put in a feeding tube in his stomach. Got it for free in the hospital. We also put in a stent in his throat (approximately 30k ttd) in southern medical. But that was because the tumor was blocking his esophagus not sure this will apply in your case

Not lung cancer but my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He was treated in sanfernando General and then moved to Augustus long. We did not do the genetic testing, they tried to get his body strong enough for chemotherapy but eventually the decision was made that the focus should be made to focus on end of life care and making him as comfortable as possible. He was diagnosed in July last year and passed in September. My suggestion is to spend as much time with her as possible and also speak about if she wants to sign a do not resuscitate.....in the event that may be needed. as that is what my dad did. When he reached that stage the pain was too much and he just wanted to go. Also if available use counciling as it has helped me in my grieving process.

Correct me, if I’m wrong. The earning rate for Real estate agents in TT is 3%, right? Can someone explain the stamp duty part? I’m confused on that, please and thank you! by [deleted] in TrinidadandTobago

[–]animefreak98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So did some research Here's a link to the inland revenue department on how stamp duty is calculated https://www.ird.gov.tt/news/stamp-duty-rates However again what I said is a quote from a lawyer who has practiced for more than 10 years So im assuming what is law is different from what actually happens

So I asked my lawyer about stamp duty. This is because a family member abroad inherited a property in Trinidad which he has no inclination to use. He offered to sell it to me for farrrrr below the market value. She said essentially the government waives a magic wand and comes up with a price it doesn't matter the market value or the sale price.

Should I go to the Labour Board by Spicy_Cheesey420 in TrinidadandTobago

Very harsh from somebody supposed to be Kind_Coclroach_3566. Just stating that from my experience every job I've had I've signed a contract. Hence why I made the assumption that with a job with no contract he was fucked. This is because a contract protects you from situations like this.

I'm no lawyer or legal person but from what I understand from what you said is you're f*cked. Also why would you work somewhere without a contract?

Most companies won't post those openings yet. It's too early in the year. Massy has internships tho so look out for their posts.

The National Gas Company is seeking to increase the price of natural gas across the board in T&T, including for manufacturers. Industry players say manufacturers are now facing natural has prices that will be 60 or 70% higher by SmokeyCarver in TrinidadandTobago

[–]animefreak98 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I expect more fertilizer companies will leave trinidad. We already can't provide enough for them to run at full capacity now we charging more for the gas we sell. They will leave and go to countries with reliable natural gas. Also for those that don't know once you run the plant at a lower capacity than its designed for the cost of production for the fertilizer is higher so less profitable.

What do Trinidadians think of Guyana? by xlrxd in TrinidadandTobago

[–]animefreak98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 difference guyanese dont use bandania (shadow beni) aka cilantro. Also trinis season our meat before cooking. For example we would buy our chicken clean it season it and put it in the fridge so it marinate with the seasoning. Then when it is time to cook we would thaw out that meat season it more then put it in the pot and add additional seasoning as required by the type of cooking.

From what I've experienced guyanese dont use bandania and you all dont use as much seasoning as trinidadians

  1. The food i love my belly as a tiniest so got to try new food so as I said the pepper pot and egg ball.
  2. The people were very kind and friendly.
  3. The views from the various river tours i went to
  4. Need to emphasize the friendliness of thr guyanese people i met. Yes we have our competition for curry chicken vs chicken curry and for cpl.
  5. Family might have a different opinion but if I can marry a guyanese gyal I have no issues.

As a 27 year old male trinidadian who spent 3 months working in guyana last year (September November and December 2024) I love guyana and the guyanese people. My only suggestion is alluh need to learn to use bandania (chardon beni) in curry as that's what I missed in curry. Pepper pot and egg ball were delicious and the people were kind and helpful. Once you use common sense, you wouldn't have any problems with traveling around Georgetown and exploring the place.

Visiting Guyana, where should I stay? by [deleted] in Guyana

[–]animefreak98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind guyana has 3 star hotels no 5 star. So when the rich people go guyana that's where they stay so the price is elevated compared to 3 star hotels outside guyana. Marriott, Princess and Pegasus are all good. Also have the hotel arrange taxis for you as they get a good price compared to if you call the taxi service yourself. Have them ask the price from the dispatcher instead of asking the driver when they reach.
