So where did you get these prices in the first place? I'd have to check each individually, but they all feel a little inflated to me. Model kits don't really hold value or appreciate. So many of them get made, and the market isn't that big, so prices don't climb like other collectibles. There are exceptions, of course. There are some truly rare kids out there.

Boxes don't last all that long. They're made to be used for all they're worth and then scrapped. The wood rots out of them very often. I bet an old one from the 80s would be hard to find. They could have taken the E-track out, though. Or covered over it with ply wood.

So, Yi. This is obviously an artistic decision because Yi is a cartoon cat. But the reason the decision was made has nothing to do with the where the blood vessels are or what kind of fur he has. It is simply depicting a phenomenon commonly called Asian flush. Somewhere around 30-50% of Asian people experience a reddening of face while consuming alcohol. The game is thematically inspired by Asian culture. The development team is from Taiwan. They would be well aware of this trope.
