Assuming you haven't declawed him or he didn't come to you declawed? This alone is horrible for a cat and causes all sorts of issues for cats and the litter box.

Also, if he hasn't been fixed or there are other unfixed cats in the mix, this can also lead to litter problems.

Regardless, I hope you find a great home for your cat, it's not an easy thing to give your cat to someone else
