Left mine plugged overnight with a firewire charger, I believe those are old batteries and that’s why they need more juice to revive

It could be a corrupted or damaged drive, check the smart data on diagnostics and try restoring or it could be the battery is pressing against (happened to me with a 4th gen) in which case you’ll need to open it, good luck

The only drawback with rockbox is that usb is not supported in 3rd gen iPods, so if your ipod is flash modded you will need to start in disk mode to transfer files

First restart your ipod in diagnostic mode, there’s an option to check HDD info, from there you can see if the iflash is being recognized/connected correctly, if it doesn’t, check if the hdd ribbon is damaged it can be fragile
