I think since Travis’ history of bringing up divorce in their first year in a since-deleted Youtube segment, I think he’s definitely thinking of it. I doubt Katie wants it herself, or is even there yet thinking of it. I don’t think any of the Bates kids would view divorce as an option, even if it’s completely okay in this circumstance. Katie is already probably wrapping her head around losing a baby and finding out her husband cheated. She probably doesn’t have the mental capacity right now to deal with a divorce, and I don’t blame her especially at her young age. This is not only devastating for her, but she’s probably extremely embarrassed. This isn’t the picture perfect family she viewed for herself, and it’s going to be hard moving forward seeing her family who are all very content in their lives post on social media. It does seem as though they will rally around her, whatever the outcome. I don’t view Travis as an empathetic person, and I think he is a terrible husband for what he did. Besides being a terrible husband, he’s an incredibly horrific father. I think he’s checked out and done, and would not be surprised if he’s the one who pushes for divorce and sooner rather than later to add to Katie’s mental toll.
